Someone mentioned to me we might have to play a CL play off game v City for the final place. Can anyone explain this to me please? Sounds nuts tbh.

If we finish 3rd and 4th with the above criteria? So one of us would miss out on CL? So only 3 places unless Utd win Europa making the 4th place?

{Ed001's Note - no it would not work like that. Top four get Champions League places, if United win Europa, and finish 5th, then there would be five teams in the Champions League.}

What an odd scenario. The FA decide that they won't take the head result and will instead pit the teams head to head.

Is that the same detail if we finished 3rd and 4th with the above scenario? So we would have to play off to see who goes straight into the groups and who has to play a qualifier? an extra game on top of the extra game lol.

Qualification rounds are tricky and you don't know who your opposition is. Napoli got eliminated a couple of years ago by Atletic Bilbao.
