So after my consensus question yesterday I've done a quick tally and here's the snapshot of this site's summer transfer priorities:

1. CB - The most popular choice by a margin. It may be that we're all missing Sakho but no one seems satisfied with our current arrangements.

2. LB - Just pips GK, no one made it their top priority but pretty much everyone thinks we need one this summer.

3. GK - Has Migs improved or are people resigned to the idea that we won't go into the transfer market again after just one year? Those who think we do need one made it a high priority.

4. DM - Lots of people think we need one but few made it a high priority.

5. LW - Enough people added this to the bottom of their list to give it the number 5 spot but it suggests no one's particularly excited that Brandt is our rumoured 'marquee' target.

6. St - The last position to get significant consideration, we need three fit strikers and we only have 2 right now.

I was surprised that only one person specifically mentioned RB but I assume all those who are dissatisfied with Clyne assume TAA will take his place next year.

I'd hope we sign Brandt, Keita, Tah, Lacazette and Pereira. That's a winger, CM, CB, CF and full back, all achievable and Lacazette aside, won't cost the earth.

I got for Douglas Costa he would fit our style more than Brandt.

Putney, happy that you did not mention any potential player names who might sign for us as it makes me cringe when I see names like Lacazette who clearly will not be joining Liverpool in the summer. Think it is fair to say that by the end of the season and with CL football on the horizon (fingers crossed) our targets could change.

CB, RB, LB, CM and another pacey forward would do for me.

I honestly do not see Mignolet leaving unless we strike it lucky and get another club to take over his lucrative contract.

With Hendo having a long term problem with his feet which will likely see him sidelined more often, we need another quality anchor man.

Our defence surely is going to be number one priority? If we persist with our current defence next season we will continue to leak goals.

At the end of the day, whoever we sign, they will need to be first team ready and upgrades on the players who leave.

I'd ask the same questions though. We signed Karius as a guy with potential, the fans turned on him really quickly, what younger player with potential is going to look ar LFC and think it is a good move? But then what established players who bring significantly more than the current options are viable for LFC? I'd say the club would be better picking a couple of key positions, CB seems to be a consensus, and spend big to make sure someone is bought who would be the difference between 4-6 and challengers. I'd rather that than buying another 5-6 guys who are no change to current squad. Maybe invest more in getting more from the current squad, better GK coaching not just wish listing a new keeper every year or so.

I'd put LB first on my shopping list. A top, top LB would see us get even more out of Coutinho. Milner could then rotate or add depth to the midfield.

There is absolutely no need of buying anymore young keeper / players. The club should focus on experienced players. What we lack is experience in the team. All this future looking bright is a dumb idea when you aren't doing well in present. We have enough young players at the club in the form of academy and first team.

I still think we need a new GK and general Defence coaching team! That would be my priority.

Acheampong of Anderlecht or Gnabry of Bremen are better deals.

I've wanted Douglas Costa for years, since shahktar but ever since he moved to Bayern I resigned myself to the fact that it's never happening.
