Hello EDs. Suggestion that LFC could spend close to 200 million this summer - think it might have been the echo suggesting it. Question is, do you expect anything like this level of spending from us?
I can't even see us spending 100 million. Surely we don't have the finances to spend at that level, even if we did move a number of players on.

{Ed002's Note - I cannot estimate the amount Liverpool will spend - I suspect it is simply speculation.}

Where did you find that information from? No club ever publishes that so the information you have is nothing but fake news.

Also, I didn't see us spending 34m on Mane either as yet we did so I would hold on and see what happens before passing premature judgement on something that has not happened yet.

There is no fixed budget. Pretty sure Klopp will look to strengthen some key areas of the squad like a new LB, CDM, CB, RB and a winger. Getting these positions sorted will possibly cost the club around 100 million itself and i think Klopp's business will be done for the summer. Any more signings will be dependent on key players leaving so the 200 million budget is just fantasy.

I'm not an expert on FFP but I'm pretty sure Liverpool don't have that kind of cash to spend surely!

It's pure guess work, the article states we will look to move on Sturridge, Sakho and a few others bringing in a fair amount of money but if we can't get the players we want I'm sure we won't be stupid enough to spend for the sake of it. If first choice options are viable I'm sure we will spend in the summer but bear in mind we are not the only clubs looking at Brandt, Dembele, Keita etc.

As the eds say there is no set budget. If the right player is there at the right price then money is available.

Also 200mil isn't what it used to be.

As for the 100mil from player sales. sakho, sturridge, markovic, mignolet. to name a few.

we should get 50 mill just on Sakho and Sturridge alone, so 100 mill on outgoing players is doable .

50mil for Sakho and Sturridge? You must be having a laugh. One of the Eds has already said that teams will be looking to get a loan-to-buy for Sturridge and we'll be lucky to get back what we paid for Sakho. Add to that the £5m we might get for Migs, £2m for Lucas (apparently) and maybe £10m for Markovic were not even close to £50m let alone £100.
The only way we get to triple figures is if we lose Coutinho and that's the worst thing that could happen.
