Even Ed001 said Can was one of the better players on the pitch in his match review. Can has all the tools to become an exceptional midfielder and hoping him and the club can come to an agreement over a new contract. If he leaves we will need to spend triple or more what we paid for him in order to replace him.

Lucas was a rock and Wijnaldum is impressing me more and more. Our midfield won us the match.

Hmm, more evidence of how a player can be made to look better with Youtube. I seem to remember him making a fair few mistakes that the video doesn't show. I'm not digging him out - I like Can a lot, but let's not kid ourselves with clever editing. He had an ok game imo.

Can is over rated he only wins the ball back after his first touch has let him down. he was at fault for the blue noses goal as he fell asleep when supposedly marking Jagielka he did this over and over on set pieces. he hasn't got the discipline to be a holding midfielder, he has played better in the last couple of games but he still shouldn't wear the red shirt.

I'm not sure if that is true.

We defend set pieces using the zonal system where you are responsible if the ball or a man who enters your zone. Jagelka made a run and left Cans zonE to get the flick on at the near post.
If Can was to follow Jagelka on what could be a decoy run leaving his zone wide open.
I don't know what the rule is but maybe if you were made responsible for anything leaving the zone as well but then that is really just man marking.
At the start of the set piece we had 4 players behind Can along the 6 yard box they are as much to blame as Can follow the goal under this system .
