So just for a bit of fun with all the odd rumours flying around if there had to be a choice between can or the ox who would you choose?

Can - we don't need the Ox thanks.

{Ed025's Note - emre can is the present day carlton palmer zimbo..no one can actually believe he gets paid to play football mate.. :)

I've given him a fair bit of stick myself mate - fairly consistent said I'm not sure he fits in the 4-3-3 as he's not creative enough going forward or defensively sound enough for deeper role.

Having said that he's also had some good games, and tends to play particularly well alongside someone more mobile to complement him.

I'd be OK to see him leave if we get in a top deep midfielder, but likewise more thank OK to see him stay as he only 23 and there's enough there to potentially see him develop with time.

Ox on the other hand I see absolutely no need for. Has his moments but nowhere near reliable enough, poor attitude and doesn't score enough goals. Would rather see Wilson/ Ojo/ Woodburn given a shot.

This from a club that has James Mccarthy and Aaron lennon.

If we only listened to people that support the top 4 sides it would be would a boring world indeed.

Easy Can. At least he has the chance to improve, i don't think Ox will.

I'd rather take a gamble on Ramsey than Ox.

Come on ed, that's harsh, especially coming from an everton fan - you lot are often known for your particularly skewed observations of players, especially your own😉

Can has been awful this season that is true, he has had a lot of good games for us though. The problem i have is that he hasn't improved in almost 3 years. He still cannot apply his talents better and more consistently and still has not improved on anything he is bad at. Furthermore i feel he is too similar to what we already have without actually fitting in well anywhere. Too unintelligent to play in hendersons or wijnaldums place, not skillful enough to play in lallanas, and still can't pass the ball beyond 10 yards. I feel he needs to go to a lesser club that suits the level he is at now.

In a time when we have no character in our squad why on earth would we want to buy players from arsenal, where having nice hair comes before football, inconsistency keeps you in the team and 4th place is seen as a trophy.

I wouldn't, Chills. Both as with Walcott, have stagnated at Arsenal just like their manager. I wouldn't touch any of them. I would keep Can as he has more upside than the stagnating Ox.

Ox is the textbook definition of average. And that's being kind. He's not quick enough to be a winger, not clever enough or skilful enough to be a number 10 and frankly isn't a centre midfielder. Let him go to City or Man United and waste their transfer budget.

It doesn't matter weather hebus good or bad. The point being we don't need another running midfielder. We have plenty. Can we have a deep lying midfielder or strong CM. Comfortable in possession and defensive aspects?
