What the hell was Klopp thinking. Lucas vs Vardy. Why not give Gomez a chance. At least he has pace. I'm losing faith in our manager quickly.

I agree a mistake - but Gomez wasn't the answer, we need an experience CB rather than throwing a kid into that match.

His worst one though was assuming he could use Can as a like for like replacement once Hendo got injured. Not a criticism of Can, he's just not the same player and we should have aimed for better control of midfield in a deeper 4-2-3-1 rather than playing a high line and leaving Lucas and Matip so exposed.

I think the Gomez situation is a tricky one, 19 is very young to be playing at CB. On the other hand he is, physically, exactly what we need and in Matip he'd have a senior partner to mentor him. Can he perform worse than Lucas has? I'd love him to get a run out in the league.

I think Klopp needs to learn fast that some of these players that he keeps trusting and making excuses for every other week are simply not good enough or clever enough to learn and become better players.

If Lucas, a player who can't get a game in midfield is picked in central defense ahead of Klavan, what does that tell us of what he thinks of Klavan? We have seen that Emre Can cannot play as the deepest midfielder, but yet again, Klopp picks him over Stewart and is happy to have him sitting on the bench twiddling his thumbs, and what does that tell us Klopp thinks about Stewart. Milner and Moreno are another set of examples.

If he doesn't trust these players, why keep them or bring them in at the first place? Either play them now to see if they can step up, or stick with players like Karius, Gomez, Origi who we know will be here beyond the summer. There is little point giving chances to the same players who keeps letting you down, especially when they will likely be sold in the summer.

Gomez is not exactly brimming with pace is he. The problem is team selection, i other words Lucas marking Vardy. It is fully possible and at times highly effective to defend in a high line against pacy attackers even with slow defenders. But then you need two towers at CB claiming the more direct long balls. We all know Lucas ain't no tower. The management team screwed up badly this gameweek but what's even worse is they don't seem to have any solutions in the current squad. Remember, experience is just as important as physical presence in a defensive line.

Gomez vs Vardy? That is suicide, my friend. I thought we played him quite well really overall. What happened on the first goal was just unfortunate as Wij lost the ball and most importantly, Albrighton played the pass first time hence, preventing the CB's from getting into position to mark Vardy or cut out the pass. As for Can, Klopp had no choice even tho, Can is not a good replacement for Hendo. As soon as Hendo went down, I knew we would struggle. He needs someone to help him come next season. Simple!

Gomez is touted as the future Carra. If he isn't good why are persisting with him? This is ridiculous.
