If the owners, or whoever is in charge of scouting etc was a formula 1 team they would give Jurgen a porche to drive while everyone else has a f1 car. Realistically we can't keep up without real quality being added to the First team.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp got the players he wanted in the summer and the team was doing well - but in his system which was never going to be sustainable. It is embarrassing reading all of this nonsense trying to put the blame elsewhere.}

were u blaming the owners when we were 2nd in the league?

klopp has to make it right, if he is to prove that he is a world class manager. bt i don't get why suddenly its the owners fault?

Ed02, I would love to hear a podcast with you and Ed01 debating Klopp. Not an argument and not pinning you two against each other, but it would be really interesting to hear you two discuss the matter. Is there any possibility of that occurring?

{Ed002's Note - No, sorry. My podcasts are done as and when I have time - and my time is difficult to schedule.}

Kopklop partially has it right though. I for one am massively against spending stupid amounts of money per transfer window but to compete it HAS to be done these days. We need to add top quality like city, Utd and Chelsea have done they're not afraid to spend and it brings them success in return.

Flip side to the coin I do agree, if we can play like we did the first half of the season then it should be the same the second and it's proving not to be. Klopp needs to change things quickly and I believe he will.

It's not the owners fault one bit, I'm sure the funds were available if klopp wanted them and panic bought (then some would be moaning he's bought rubbish and over spent. )
It's not because he's a poor manager or ignorant to learn. it's his first full season playing his style of football in England, he's made mistakes and I'm sure he's learned a great deal from it. He didn't know we wouldn't be able to sustain our high pressing game as it worked so well with BVB (in a different league) but I'm sure he knows what needs to be done and now can't wait to finish this season (as strong as possible with the personnel we have) then re group in the summer with his staff and address the situation and make the necessary signings.
He is in uncharted territory, it's a new situation to him, even this summer window is totally different from last, he didn't know his players then like he does now, he gave them time to show what they could do. Some have impressed some have disappointed no doubt. He's no fool, I'm sure he knows what he needs to do so let's stop bleating and AT LEAST give it until this time next season before the moaning starts. Hopefully any money he hasn't wasted in January can be added to the summer spending. But Klopp is the right man to take us forward!

I think we needed to add some quality to the squad to continue with the great football AND the intensity we play with. Yes players should be fit enough to play two games a week but the levels of intensity in training and matches we needed a couple of high quality players. Even gerrard said hed never experienced a training session like it after joining in a session since starting at the academy.

Klopp wanted a winger and the owners paid a premium for one, he wanted a midfielder and the owners paid a premium for one. He wanted a CB and the owners got the one he wanted for a great deal. He wanted a GK and the owners got the one he wanted.

The only transfer failure was at LB but it's difficult to argue that the owners did a bad job achieving 4 out 5 targets especially with Milner's successful conversion to LB.

I don't know if some on here need hearing aids. Klopp said repeatedly that this is his team, his squad, and the one he wanted. Therefore, where the owners are getting the blame for anything, I will never know. Where you all slating them when we were top or 2nd in the PL? NO! Now that we are struggling and it seems many on here cos they are reluctant to slate Klopp, who is the easy target? FSG, of course. Why? Cos they can't defend themselves so they pile on them which is nothing but cowardice. If you have a prob with the way the squad was built, look to no one but Klopp. And if you don't want to criticize him for reasons X or Y, then don't BUT leave the owners alone cos they are not to blame here.

Blaming fsg is like blaming your boss for your own poor performance at work.

People can't eat the fact Klopp has been found out and has done very little to work on his system and tactics. So they need a scapegoat to shed the blames. Hence Owners. The easiest way.
