I know the summer long time away but if you look at the postions we need. This is just me. People can have there say

Lb
A defensive midfielder who can Sence danger
Winger

We talking at least 70mil for top talent.

There should be a lot sold and the wage bill should be healthy to bring these players if we what to be up there like Chelsea.

I agree but with with Sturridge looking likely to leave, Ings being injured and we are yet to see if he can really do a job for us and Origi still pretty raw I'd like to see a striker in the mold of Harry Kane.

Bobby has done well but iv said it before he isn't an out an out goalscorer. He need someone who can do what he does but also hold the ball up, not be bullied by defenders and get on the end of crosses when teams sit deep.

And before people say Carroll, Lambert, Benteke didn't work, I don't mean players like them. Kane presses from the front and works hard which they didn't. Hopefully Origi can step up again as he's already shown there is talent there, but he's young and having that little dip all young players do.

Thats the whole difference in mentality right there.

70 million spread across 5/ 6 players is why 9/ 10 you don't end uo with quality.

Whats the most pressing position there. goal keeper?

Find the best, attainable keeper we can and keep biding until we have him. If that's 38 million for oblak. then done.

Next on the list lb? Got juanma.

So cb. Nik sule? Again keep biding 35/ 40 million? Too much. Walk away and that's your lot.

Until next summer.

Got an academy there for players aswel. If you can't get the best avaliable to you walk away. don't try and spread 60/ 70 million over a few players.

that's all just fantasy numbers. if you want to spend 70mil then you're taking risks with players and hoping klopp can get them up to speed. winger? mane cost 34 mil and we probably feel like we got a bargain. not sure what a DM that can 'Sense danger' would cost but i'm Guessing will be north of 25mi. that leaves you 11mil for a GK, LB and CB. we should just be targeting absolute first team players. if that only means we bring in two at a higher cost then that's what we should do and try and develop from the squad to fill other gaps.

@Westwood - Origi's goals to games ratio is appalling for a striker. He may be a useful player to have in and around the squad but i'm not sure he'll ever be the 20-goal a season striker you want us to aim for.

@Supermane - Sule has already agreed to join Bayern. I agree with your sentiments though, absolute quality should be the priority rather than spreading resources thinly for 5 or 6 positions - we've done that a lot in previous transfer windows and it has not paid dividends.

{Ed001's Note - Origi is young, very few players have a good scoring ratio at his age, it is later they develop into a goalscorer usually. Sometimes very late.}

Are people ignoring Danny Ward completely? The lad is coming back from a loan in summer and if you buy a GK what is his future at the club?

Look at costas early record, he was awful and loaned out several times up to the age of around 24. Origi will be a great striker in the future for me.

His record at Liverpool is not bad at all if you look at it fairly.

In 28 starts Origi has 13 goals. Pretty much a goal every other game. That is not bad for a 21 year old striker!

In a further 35 substitute appearances he has 5 goals. When you consider that the average time he would be on the pitch for this is about 15 minutes, that is decent. It also means that throwing him on has a high chance of changing the game for us. Not many subs come on and make an impact. Most fail to get up to speed before the final whistle!

Good young player who has too much pressure on him due to Sturridge being completely out of form.

I didn't mean sule exactly.

Just i know he is very good quality. So if he was avaliable qould be a target. If he would be too of our lsit for cb then just pay whatever is jeeded aslong as it in budget. 40/ 50 million. It sounds a lot but if were spending 50/ 60 mil a summer on a lot of pkayers it better on just oje top top top quality.

Origi is 21, for heaven's sake. Give him a chance. When on form, we've seen what he can do so I will stick with him till he shows he can't cut it anymore. Same with Karius.
