To the delusionals! The only team above us with a slightly smaller budget is Tottenham! Everyone else is way above finance wise! We don't have an empty cheque book and it will take time for klopp to build and gel his squad! Who would you get in to replace klopp? I personally couldn't think of anyone even thinking from a plastics frame of mind! Liverpool have no right to be guaranteed a top 4 realistically if u put down to finance so there for in my opinion most fans have unrealistic expectations as money is everything in football these days right? Fickle fans especially the ones calling for klopps head for selling benteke as seeminly he now seems to be the plan b we desperately need! 30 million is no plan b in my humble opinion! Teams better than us have sticky patches! And as a fan of the club when we get beat by hull it hurts! But the reaction of some of the people on this website embarrasses me more! Weather it's stupidity or just lack of common sense I do not know but liverpool definitely have less muscle financly than at least 4 clubs so we are pretty much where we belong financly! Apologise for the spelling but severely dyslexic and no spell check. Feel free to rip away. YNWL ( except you will unless u don't live up to unrealistic expectations of a delusional fan Base! Embarrassing!

It just excuse after excuse in my opinion at Liverpool. We don't have as much money but for seasons we have purchased more than Arsenal, Spurs and Utd and consistently finished beneath them. The manager needs time yet Mourinho walks into Chelsea twice and wins the league straight away and Conte who was there to "steady the ship" is walking away with the league this season. Look at Mourinho at Utd now. Still in 4 competitions with a team that includes an ageing Carrick, Valencia, Rojo, Smalling, Jones, Mata who he got rid of at Chelsea and Herrera who was doing sweet FA before before Mourinho came. Are these players much better than we have? Seriously? There is somethkng seriously at fault at Anfield but i haven't a clue what it is. Maybe the pressure on players, expectation of fans, management higher up at Liverpool, scouting, i don't know, maybe a combination of things but we can't continue to make excuse after excuse to suit our arguements. There has been too many times over the years that we have under achieved. It has to be more than a lack of finance or bedding a new team in. Other teams can do it and be better than us, why can't we?

Faith, I just bought Alvaro, Camacho and Ricardo Rodriguez in January alone.

NiKp87 your making the excuse about financial power when Leicester last season proved it's not all about finances and big name signings. Also we were top of the league scoring 3 goals a game a just over a month ago and we are still competing really well and unbeaten against the teams you said have more money. What's frustrating is the sudden and quite long lasting slump in form we have had and how we are going backwards and being beaten by the teams with less money than us and there doesn't seem to be any other plans to get us back getting results it's the same thing over and over every game. I don't want Klopp out at all he deserves time but it's worrying that this is such a prolonged bad batch yet we go into each game pretty much doing the same thing and not trying anything different. you're the delusional one if you think the money spent list should effectively be the way the table finishes at the end of the season.

I Completely agree with rover, the owners need to realise if they want the club to win a title and become a force in europe its going to take more than a few signings from southampton. I am sick of us being linked with the likes of Van Dijk and Azmoun when United are buying Pogba for 80 million and looking to buy Greizmann in the Summer and they like us have no champions league. What do they have that we dont? If its money then FSG should see they're out of their league and sell it to owners who will make the difference. Its fair enough saying we don't need to spend we have a world class academy when all we have brought through is sterling as a real first team starter in the last 10 years and look where he's gone. Before people say look at Leicester last season I say look at them now, I don't want us to win the title and go back to where we started. Its hard to be patient when you can't see any improvements.

We are going through a bad patch and at are still within one point of a Champions League play-off place and three of an automatic place. There are two assumptions at the moment - the first is that Liverpool are going to continue to drop points - the second that ALL the clubs around us are going to continue to win points.

The Liverpool I saw at my first visit to Anfield for several decades (against Watford) was no flash-in-the-pan. I believe that Liverpool can regain that form. There are still ten games in which clubs in the top 6 play each other so anything can happen. Liverpool 2H 1A, Chelsea (Champions) 1H 1A, Arsenal 2H 2A, Spurs 2H 1A, Man C 2H 2A, mu 1H 3A. Liverpool are still in with a shout so let the fans get shouting and get behind the team.

So Liverpool have no right to be inside top 4. Lol more excuses flowing around today. So what is the progress under Klopp? And y do you think we will get it right next season when you admit there are teams with better finances? One of the most dumbest post in a while. So you can't beat hull city and all came down to lack of money?

9.) 06 Feb 2017

It's all to do with the mentality of the team. As seen many times over previous seasons we crumble when under mental pressure. The best signing we could get right now would be to get Steve Peters back. And sharpish.

Cyklops

Did we not splash £25 mill on a Wijnaldum who is learning his trade as a CM? Or how about £35 mill on Mane. Went have spend within or even more that our budget. It's the choices that has been the issue over the years. Let it be £35 mill Carroll or £20 mill downing. Liverpool never had shortage of money in my book. We have spend a lot more than Spurs who are doing excellent with the players they have.

Cant see any improvements?

We have been immense this season. Every single team in the top 6 has had a bad period of about 4/ 6 weeks. We will get through it and it will start on saturday when we smack the spurs about.

After that the pump will be back and we will be back to normal. Cant remember the last time the season finished in february. Short memories. fake fans!

Cyklopps

What do you united have that we don't. well that's a simple. The richest club in the world with an open cheque book.

We pay over the odds for players because they know we are desperate.

United of old along with barcelona and real Madrid would bully teams into selling players at a fraction of the price it would cost us.

Also wages play a massive part as united will pay £250,000 a week where we can only pay half that.

13.) 06 Feb 2017
06 Feb 2017 12:43:02
Well unfortunately FSG needs to sell to someone who can compete financially with the clubs you mentioned. Otherwise I will never see Liverpool win the league in my lifetime.

RedWillis says:

"We are going backwards and being beaten by the teams with less money than us"

But then goes on to say:

"you're the delusional one if you think the money spent list should effectively be the way the table finishes at the end of the season. "

You lot drive me mental sometimes!

Yes we're playing awful and struggling for form. I can think back to so many recent seasons where January has been a shocking month on the pitch. But this team hasn't suddenly forgotten how to play football.

It is what it is, a loss of form that can be turned on its head with a couple of decent results. Roll on the spurs and gunners. Huge 6 pts IF we stop the rot!

So now that we are struggling for form, the moaners and FSG haters are out in force. Didn't hear them moaning when we were crushing teams in the first half of the season. "Should not have sold Benteke". That one takes the cake. Must be the same fans who still thought Migs was a great GK and forgot how hopless he had been before he got benched. Now, he has reminded us of how hopeless he is which is not surprising. "Klopp has not improved us". Another nonsensical comment. Who has the record for the most PL points won by the half way point? Klopp. Who has the best record by vs the big teams since last season? Klopp. Who is the guy that Pep, Mou, Poch and Wenger can't beat? Klopp.

I think people got suckered into thinking our team was good enuff for the title challenge cos the media kept hyping us up so if you fell for that, that is your fault and not Klopp's. Many of us knew that certain players would need replacing regardless of our form. Many thought Origi and Studge would step up in Mane's absence. Many of us thought Migs would stop being a calamity. Alas, none of these happened. Is that Klopp's fault too? Didn't many of us here rail against Karius and wanted him benched for a known clanger in Migs? Now, they are now saying they want Karius back. See the lack of clarity in such thinking and the constant flip-flopping? The hindsight geniuses are never wrong, are they?

Look, we are going through a bad spell and Klopp needs to take responsibility for part of it which, he has. But I think some of the players have been bottling it and to that end, heads need to roll cos if you don't have a stomach for a CL fight then, stay home and allow those who do go out there and win.

Don't really understand why I drive you mad with that post. It was in reply to the op that claimed that the reason we can't expect to compete for the top four is financial reasons. I was just pointing out that we are performing well against the teams that have more money than us and worse against the teams with less thus disproving his point. Also pointing out that before Christmas we were performing well and looked dead set for top four but now because we're having a serious slump that all of a sudden it was delusional of us to think we could challenge and finish top 4?

17.) 06 Feb 2017
06 Feb 2017 15:37:29
Talking about finances Wenger has managed to remain in top 4 with what Chamkah, Wilshere, Bendtner and Fabianski for how many years? Top 4 is an easy task title is difficult.

Harry title too is not that difficult mate. U don't need millions to beat the likes of hull swansea burnely etc to win this league which is needed. U need a flexible tactician and planning to do it. There's a reason all these years as a club we haven't progressed and our rivals have been leaving us behind coz we lacked planning so do now.

20.) 06 Feb 2017
06 Feb 2017 18:24:17
Not being funny but we could have the best tactician in the world and this group would still fail. Its not about money, or formations or even talent. Its about attitude and players taking responsibility.

Constantly passing side to side and leaving it to the next man to make a run, or take on a player to make something happen. While courinho may not be in great form at least he is trying but i can't say the same for all of them tbh. let's not even mention a goal keeper bottling being hit in his fragile body by an opposing forward and letting them score instead. Its all mental with this team and unfortunately it won't change until half of them get shifted. Not ideal i know but how do you counter the whole squad practically going missing for a month.

21.) 06 Feb 2017

Klopp had 3 transfers and was happy with the squad. Injuries are part and parcel of the game nothing new there.
