Edo1 think its clear now we won't sign anyone in jan mistake in my book should of happened in the first week but we move on to summer now.

so my question is wat u think we need position wise and if u don't mind wat achievable players for the positions u think we need?

Think we need 5 cb lb cm winger striker and all need to be quality the reason I said not doing in jan is a mistake is because bedding to many players at once can be destructive klopp has had three windows only used one think that's is a mistake thanks

{Ed001's Note - we don't need a lb, we need to be bedding in Juanma now. We do need a centre back, anything else is really secondary and that should be the sum total of our efforts until we have one. As for achievable, it is January, far too easy to pick who will be available in the summer.}

Happy New Year Ed001 and ed002 thank you for all the hard work. How is Juanma doing and do you think he's been ready for first team next season?

{Ed002's Note - I suspect that he will still be with the U23s next season Bravesun and that Liverpool will look to bring a new left back in.}

Has no one seen yarmelenko downing a vodka or two in city bars?

The problem is we bought too many players who like to sit in behind the striker. Lallana and coutinho are wasted when they are stuck outwide.

Mike you are probably rite we do need all them players but we need to start adding real quality instead of paying over the odds for average players.

We have missed mane but imo we started playing poorly when lallana first went out injured.

Hopefully when European football starts up again and with us being out of all cups that will give us enough advantage to stay in the top 4. (Although god help us next year when we are playing twice a week) .

Priority has got to be a CB then a pacey winger. Sell sturridge and play firminho up top next season. I'd rather spend the budget on 2 quality players than 5 average.

On the can debate is rather he be given more time and if need be sell wijnaldum.

Lavers that's my point klopp had 3 windows and not really any spend with out goings we need top quality in everyone of those positions I mentioned then sell studge can lucas klavan moreno and any other fringe first team players and then use youth aswell then love stewart still think he should be at the base with lallana and hendo either side plus u have gruic so I would prioritise cb then winger striker lb cm in that order cm no so much cheers

I agree mike he did mess up in the summer transfer market.

Priority should have been a CB a alongside matip, klaven was never going to be good enough. Now we find ourselves with another player we can't get rid off or one who leaves for peanuts.

{Ed002's Note - It was Klopp's choice. Like Karius and Grujic were his choice.}

That's what I mean ed, he's had the money and spent it wrongly again.

Wat i've seen grujic preseason and sore od bit from were we got him from looks a good player but needs a run in the first team when he is free from injury karius I think could turn out to be a quality keeper klavan was a mistake i've liked gini but for the money its 50/ 50 matip been excellent mane the same so 3and half out of 5 is pretty good but in the orher transfer windows we could of done more to get the positions i've mentioned sorted and also the sale of players that are no longer needed or contributing enough to match there wages.
As for klopp he has made mistakes like the 2cups team selctions not using ojo/ wilson massive errors even to see wat the can do plus we have been dead in the warter with out width and speed.
But in general I think he suits liverpool to a t but hopefully he can learn from this let's face it he has only been here just over a year and most fans would of took top four this year but who nos beat chelsea and it makes it interesting but who nos cheers

Klavan was bought to replace kolo. Sakho was supposed to be matips partner but unfortunately he burnt his bridges

Noone was suggesting at Christmas that Klopp messed up in the transfer market. In fact, all his purchases were being heralded with the exception of Karius.

{Ed002's Note - Herman's Hermits.}

Spot on, Lavers. We have been paying over the odds for average players at best and adding them to the squad in high numbers over the years from previous regimes hence, Klopp found a bloated squad with majority average players hence, him trying to clean up a mess he did not create, globally. Now while all this was happening, our rivals spent their time adding good players to their squads cos well, they`ve had CL footie or EL footie all the time hence, their squads are better suited to handle the perils of the Jan footie schedule as CL and EL don`t start till Feb. This is the bigger problem.

He has trimmed down the squad a whole lot BUT the squad is at it`s bare bones at the moment. We need quality players to come into the first 11 and first team next season then, use the youngsters who are ready or thereabouts, to complete the 25 man squad. Thoughts?

Klavan was bought for backup and was not expected to play week in and out as he`s doing now. Who knew that Matip`s injury would flair up again and keep him out that long or the Cameroon cockup would happen? It is really easy to do the whole hindsight genius thing but the coulda/ shoulda/ woulda nonsense in a bid to rewrite history or blame people, should stop. We make decisions based on info we have and what we can forecast and if mistakes are made, you learn from them and move on and plan better, period. The hindsight 20/ 20 thing and what could/ should have been done, is irrelevant cos it changes nothing.

Klavan has not been a mistake. A squad player, with vast experience, for little money in today's market, who has done ok in most games but has had to play more than expected due to injury (Matip, Gomez) and foolishness (Sakho) .
