A question for Ed1, if you're about. A few seasons back you said that you thought Son HM would be an ideal signing for Liverpool (before he signed for Spurs) . Now he has had time in the EPL, do you still think the same?

Cheers

{Ed001's Note - yes, he has had trouble adjusting to life in England as well as playing in the Premier League, but that wasn't helped by joining Spurs. Not because Spurs are an issue per se, but because of how his chances to play fell to him there. They were playing poorly when he got a run in the team, and he was under immense pressure to deliver goals while not getting the chances to put away.

He would not have had the same issues for us, as we have always had scoring options and creative options to help out, whereas Spurs are incredibly reliant on Kane. Son's confidence was hit. He is not an out and out goalscorer, which is what they needed, so he was the wrong fit for the position they bought. For us, he would have been another option in the front three, to add workrate and trickery, rather than purely goals.

I have my doubts it will work for him at Spurs, as they won't buy the strikers to take the pressure off him. It is not the Levy way!}

Thanks for the reply Ed, interesting to read your comments. I don't watch enough football to observe these things, usually only watch our games and the ones that may have an impact on our position. I think it's easy to assume a player doesn't suit the league rather than not suiting a club. Do you think things would have worked out differently for Depay if he had joined us rather than Utd? Whilst many, probably most were excited about the prospect of him joining us, I think most of us now feel like we dodged a bullet!

{Ed025's Note - hes a screwball super and i think we all dodged one there, you need to watch more footy though mate, why not give the blues a watch and then you can dream of being part of a real club......after all..we are the peoples club.. :)

My partner is from a family where there is a healthy reds and blues mix, so whilst she is a red, she always likes to see Everton do well. We do actually watch a fair amount of Everton games, I do have a huge amount of respect for your club, just not enough to want to see you do better than us!

{Ed025's Note - there is nothing wrong with a bit of friendly banter super in fact its healthy, but there is a line and we all have to realize that mate..

Have to agree with Ed025 on this one. The lad was not ready for a big move and he is too immature to deal with it. Also nothing like as good as he thinks he is, so needs to work on his game, which he doesn't do enough of. It was a lucky escape for sure.

Sorry Ed025 but you contradict yourself. First you say he should watch more footy, then you suggest he watch the blues. you're just confusing the lad.

{Ed025's Note - good stuff annie..but dont give up your day job mate.. :)

Well said Ed 25
Banter is what this page is all about. But their are people on here that don't know the meaning of it. Us reds should never mention the lack of trophies over the other side of the park, that is just mean and hurtful. Or that when everton are trying to sign players they have to tell them what city they are in. "Yes we are in Liverpool aswell" almost always followed by "of course we can get your family season tickets to anfield".

{Ed025's Note - totally agree GK but it has to work both ways mate, at the derby there were some vile chants from blues fans that disgusted me, to be honest its the first time i have been ashamed to be associated with the club, i just thank god its a minority of brainless idiots who seem intent on spoiling it for the majority of decent fans who can have a bit of banter without it becoming spiteful and evil, dont get me wrong its not just everton fans mate, maybe its a social problem but whatever it is i wish it would disappear and we could get back to the time when reds and blues walked to the match together and came home the same whatever the result, but maybe thats just me being nostalgic..
