Would be nice to go within 3 points today, with Chelsea players watching, then having to wait two days before going to spurs. I think for the first time this season there will be a little pressure on them. An if they did go and get the win, I'd probably, reluctantly, concede the title will be theirs.
All nonsense, if we blow it today, however.

{Ed002's Note - You are kidding right?}

Chelsea will have to drop somewhere. I don't know where. Spursa are actually looking good. But there is a chance Chelsea might play for a draw. On the other hand we will need to beat everyone from now on.

you think the gaps too big ed?

We all no we will drop points during the second half of the season but Chelsea need to drop a lot more, even if we win and Chelsea lose they still hold a three point cushion.

{Ed002's Note - No, the opposite. Whatever happens at Sunderland will not bother the Chelsea players at all.}

6 points off them in early January and you'd concede the title? Really? We take them all the way, if they win it they win it, all dues to them. But I really don't think they're that good to simply walk away with it. It's not over until it's over.

There's been many a season when I've conceded liverpools title hopes at this time of the year but that usually coz we're about 15 points off the pace with no real sign of turning it around.

The team is in a fantastic place right now, just enjoy the ride, it doesn't tend to happen very often for us so stop choosing to concentrate on negativity - hypothetical or otherwise!

Of course they'll want to keep the gap as big as possible ed, for a man who's never played competitive football you shouldn't assume they won't feel a little pressure with us closing the gap an them going to an intimidating ground against league/ city rivals.

{Ed002's Note - They are not going to feel the slightest pressure as an outcome of what happens at Sunderland.}

Lets just take each game as it comes. If someone had said in the summer we would enter January 2nd and 6 points from Chelsea would we not have snatched their hands off? Hopefully we've had our little slump, Chelsea have theirs to come hopefully, they still have to face us yet this month.

It's January Benny!
Of course every team would like to look at the table and see themselves miles ahead of everyone but even if that was the case it still goes back to my first sentence, it's January!
They're halfway through a marathon at this stage, no point looking over your shoulder now. Just concentrate on getting yourself to the finish line and then see how it goes.

If our players thought like some of this lot we'd certainly have no chance. 6 points off, 17 games left and chelsea still to come to a field. Glass half empty!?

Liverpool need to keep winning and just make it hard for Chelsea and what happens then will happen.

What are you on about Benny? Chelsea have lost the same amount of games as us, we've just drawn more. there's still 51 points up for grabs. I can't hear any rotund ladies singing just yet.

You have to picture Chelsea losing games, and Liverpool not losing games, ones on a 13 game win streak the other throwing three points away at Bournemouth. Just being a realist, if We fail to win today it's a chance missed to close the gap and Chelsea could well be 9 points clear by Wednesday and there's no coming back from that. Not being a negative Nancy, I'm just hoping we get the job done and say to Chelsea, now your move. Imagine it all going right, we could be within 3 points when they come to anfield, and it'll be all to play for!

So 'imagining' those results is being a realist!? Common sense will tell you chelsea will drop points as will we. I think we've had the harder fixtures and have coped with injuries to key players, haven't yet had to see the same from them yet.

Y are people so confident of Chelsea dropping points. The fact they could actually drop 5 points and we would need to win all our remaining games.

How many of here are confident we would beat UTD away on 15th?
