A good run out last night and what a story for Ben Woodburn, whether he'll make it or not it's too early to say but I bet his name will be in the record books for decades to come.

The were a number of positives last night but for me the star was Origi. I haven't warmed to Origi as much as some others have on this site with my main criticism being that he doesn't carry enough goal threat but if he can perform like he did last night and at the weekend regularly then he won't just overtake Studge in the pecking order but he may well take Firmino's place as well.

His general play was excellent but his goal demonstrated what I think he's been missing, the predatory instinct that all the best strikers have. It was a great ball by A-A but Origi still had a lot to do to get to in ahead of the defender and keeper and it was a class finish. I expect he'll start again on Sunday and it's another chance for him to move from prospect to established first team player.

So Origi will take both Sturridge and Firmi's place? Seems a bit of an advantage to the other sides that we only play 10 men ;-)
But seriously looks really promising very strong and skilful when running with the ball difficult to stop and I don't think he is really match fit right now either.

Woodburn will make it if the fans alloe him to grow and mature into his mid-20's. He should be used as a backup for cup games, for now, nothing more, he needs to learn and have pressure taken off him.

Origi is the future of LFC at the CF position, period. I already saw that last season when he was on that scoring streak and had he not been injured by Funes Mori in the derby game, Heaven knows where he would have been. The guy has EVERYTHING required of a CF (pace, power, physical presence, aerial ability, and now predatory and poacher-like instincts) to be a top class CF and most of all, he is humble, hardworking, determined and eager to learn and improve. If he keeps that up, the sky is the limit for him going forward.

Agree but how do we integrate him w/ o taking out the untouchables; coutihno, firmino, mane and lallana? It's a good problem to have for sure!
