Right down in the dumps now. Just when I start to think we are a decent force again our best player is on his way. I can't fault the player as he wants to play at the highest level possible but it hurts. we will again be re-building. I can't think of anyone near his quality that we can bring in without going into stupid money 40m+ and crazy wages which we won't and shouldn't do. No one in the squad is capable of filling the void and grabbing each game by the scruff of the neck like he does. Like I say I can't blame him for wanting to move on but i'm thinking how we are going to replace him without taking backward steps in our progress.

We shouldn't be thinking about coutinho atm. We need to think about winning trophies atm especially w/ o Europe we have real chance in domestic cups etc. Everything will take care itself once we start winning. Mind u playing in CL again will be real progress too.

We will never replace Coutinho. We might buy plenty and start rebuilding transition all over again as we did after selling Torres to Suarez. I would move heaven and earth and triple his wages to keep him at the club.

Wait. Did we accept a bid or something? You talk as if coutinho's last game is coming up.
Perhaps we'll just win the league and he'll stay here till 2021.
But why oh why are you and everyone else for that matter focusing on something 8 months down the line? Why can't we just enjoy the fantastic football we're playing right now instead of constantly worrying about this player and that.
No player is bigger than the club and to use a good man's phrase players are just transient employees.
Besides if he does have a bad game next half the people crying now would go back to saying how he's flash in the min and they'd take decent money for him.

{Ed002's Note - Because the purpose of the site is to discuss transfers.}

Load of doubters 😡 (except young Reet)

1) Coutinho is our player until someone has a bid accepted.
2) Klopp is building a "TEAM". Some may be unfamiliar with the concept so - basically a "TEAM" is not reliant on one player and does not fall apart if a player moves on. Coutinho does not play every game. We do not win every game he plays and we do not lose every game he misses. He's a brilliant player on his day but he is far from consistent. He does not "grab each game by the scruff of the neck" at all and his potential departure would not leave a "void".

I can't work out if the OP is on a wind up. I can never work out Chin's fluctuating state of mind either 😄.

If you want a potential name to stop you moping about then what about James Rodriguez? He could play on the left.

Ed do you agree its a step back and will take us time to replace and rebuild or am I thinking to much into it.

{Ed002's Note - Players come and go, managers come and go and owners come and go. Liverpool is the only team in the world that needs a year of transition when a reserve goalkeeper leaves.}

Thats a great reply ed002 and I'm hoping that the collective will help loss of big players. that's how it feels now anyways. Previously we always seemed reliant on a couple dudes.

Ron, you were going really well, until you mentioned a replacement, keep the faith, I believe that we will get Champions League next season, and we won't be a selling club, we will be adding to our great TEAM .

Players will come and go, but for Couts I'd say Ojo looks like he could fill the void next season, or maybe Pulisic. Everyone is replaceable. Does anyone miss Stirling nowadays? Carragher even? Or Torres?

haha couts is good he's got better playing this formation an he does seem to be doing more than he was but come on the are others out there that will do what he does an that's score goals and assist others to score. I'm not worried I think he'l stay but if not ah well. Let's keep some perspective .

Wow chill out everyone. I was only saying the other day how good it was that we aren't reliant on one player. We have lots of players waiting to fill his place were he to leave and our team is very much a team now.

Wow what's the meltdown for.

1/ coutinho is here until the summer
2/ he is in no way shape or form as crucial to us as Suarez was, just no.

Brilliant player but not the reason where so good, infact his run. of good consistent performances is as much down to him as it is the base the team provides for him.
