ED1 you think Lucas time is over, like I know you wouldn't tinker with a winning time but do you think he could play anywhere in the team, alongside Matip perhaps?

{Ed001's Note - I expect this to be his final season, sadly. Personally I would love to see him get a run in defence for a few games.}

Surely Lucas deserves a run in the team if Lovren continues to be a bit shaky at the back? I know people will say that Lucas doesn't have the pace but I don't think he is that much slower (if at all) than lovren.

Red Sandman.

Lucas reads the game better than anyone but his lack of pace results in one freekick every game. Being a CB it will result in penalties.

Out of interest Harry how many penalties has Lucas given away; either at CB where he has played the last 2 seasons on occasion or as a Midfielder?

He gave one way last week.

Giving away one penalty should not warrant the kind generalization that Harry is doing.

Agree Hamilton and that was my point.

Muscatred - thanks - maybe answer the same question?

If you play 100 times and give one penalty away then there's a 1% chance it happens, not every game!

So please let me know the other times Lucas has fouled and given away penalties that mean we should not consider him in the team.

Lucas is slower than Per Mertascker and it's a risk playing him at the back as he would trip someone down with a late challenge. Klopp knows this and I am glad he knows it. Nothing against him but it's time he should be allowed to move on like Kuyt.

{Ed001's Note - again more lies and bull from you. Lucas is nowhere near as slow as Mertesacker. You live in a fantasy world where you constantly slag off everything Liverpool related and talk about everything everywhere else is better. It is not that simple. We are where we are because we have a good side with a good manager. We don't need your fantasy bull signings or your nonsense about how crap every player we have is better just to satisfy your obsession with other clubs and their players.}

I said it it's time for him to move on just like Kuyt moved on. There is no doubt on his lack of pace.

{Ed001's Note - no one said he is quick, just your lunatic assertions about him being as slow as Mertesacker I object to. Everything is hyperbole with you. Nothing is realistic. A player is either Maradona or a donkey who couldn't pass 2 inches. There is no balance, just insane fantasies.}

I agree with sweet chin music he reads the game very well, and would be a beast sweeper in a back three with pacey cover in CB or in a holding two in the middle. But, being last man will lead to penalties. it's a shame he is one of our best set play defenders. 8 out of 10 corners/ freekicks are cleared by him (or seems like it when he plays), very good in the air for his height.

Why on earth would we want to split up a centreback partnership? A defence is typically is established by some consistency, especially where centrebacks are concerned. It should be Matip and Lovren, let them continue together and form an understanding that'll get better over time. Matip is 24, Lovren 26 (? ) - an excellent opportunity to build something good for a number of years.

Hyach, that is utterly false. Lucas may be slow but more than makes up for it with his ability to read and diagnose things even before they happen. It`s his intelligence that allows him to move into a CB position because he`s brilliant at anticipating things. He played CB during the League Cup final vs City and he was excellent. he`s made a decent transition to CB unlike Mascherano who is rubbish at the same position and if he wasn`t playing at Barca, he would be retired right now as no one would touch him. He has commited one penalty since he moved there so don`t know how he will cause more penalties as you say. Stop with the Lucas bashing by using generalizations that make no sense at all.
