Eds reds- klipperty winding up the mancs-' playing utds long ball on monday perfect preperation to play wba saturday'! Got to love the guy! Lol. Come on redmen.

{Ed002's Note - Really, you don't think that he is deflecting from his inability to counter what he knew Manchester United were going to do?}

Hi Ed002 -

Is it a Liverpool problem or the Managers problem that for past couple of seasons it has been hard to breakdown teams who just tend to defend (Man Utd) .
There is no plan B at the moment.

{Ed002's Note - I know there is no plan B - that is the manager's problem.}

@Ed002. So it was his inability that there were too many stray passes and 1st touches, which seemed like the ball was a crazy ball. I know you have some sort of odium against him, it is natural to feel that way when you see people blindfoldly worshipping him. But this time you got no point . Sometimes it is better to get over that smugness. Just saying.

{Ed002's Note - You clearly know nothing of it - making pitiful excuses are simply not good enough and are of course embarrassing. He had no way to address how Manchester United played yet knew well in advance how they would play. He can make as many jokes about his failure as he wants - as can you - but the bottom line remains that yet again he did not deliver because he does not have the skill set to do so.}

How would you counter 6 at the back Ed2?

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with what I would do it is to do with what Klipperty demonstrated he is unable to do.}

good point ed002. i think we should stop talking about united and focus on the next game personally.

He would have countered it if it wasn't for two top saves from De gea.
And when you see what the mancs did to Fernabache last night. it looks now like bettet result.
I think We are doing great this season. with Burnley being the only disappointment but I think We learned from that and weren't caught with a sucker punch v Utd which was Jose s game plan.

{Ed002's Note - Nonsense. If Liverpool cannot muster up a few shots from distance per game then there is something wrong - if that is Klopp's only other weapon, then the club needs to look for a different manager.}

at least he gets a chance to try and counter it again then, as they say practice makes perfect ;)

Similarly ED, I guess Jose was deflecting hi sir own inabilities when stating Liverpool were not the last wonder of the world?

Ugh. the petty feuding with ed002 (which is exemplified by some of the responses to this post) is so frustrating! In a way I get it cause no one likes to hear criticism of their team and manager, but some people need to take a few breaths and think before responding.

Anyway, regardless of anyones shortcomings, I am curious what ed002 would recommend as a tactic for scoring against an overly defensive setup (the infamous bus parking) . I've discussed this many times with friends and have to admit to not having very good ideas myself. Definitely would appreciate hearing Ed's thoughts on this. Thanks!

I expected Utd to be defensive and counter but never in my wildest dreams did I expect them to be as defensive as they were. The fact is if they played like that against every team there's only a few in Europe that would break them down as they have decent defenders and an even better keeper. It's been said before but it's a huge compliment that they felt a 6-3-1 formation was the only way they could get a result.

As Klopp said, you can't win a game by talking about it after, so let's move on. 4th in the league and playing well, same cannot be said for Snourinho and his boring long ball brigade! haha.

I don`t know why people are giving Ed02 a hard time about this. Klopp already said that it was up to us to break them down and we didn`t because we were too nervous and were not cool enough to to make the passes in a more accurate manner. Ed02 might have a different opinion of Klopp than many of us, myself included but to needle him or her because of that is wrong when the truth is being told about our performance. Klopp`s already taken responsibility for it so beating up on Ed02 for repeating what Klopp himself has said is just stupid and frustrating. Those doing this should be ashamed of themselves.

Like it or not, I think Ed002 is right about our failure to break ManU down even when we knew in advance that they were going to play exactly the way they did, especially in the second half. I differ slightly in the sense that I think the boys should share a part of the blame, but overall, it's the manager that comes up with game plans, and in this case, it was clear from the beginning what ManU was about in that game. We had weeks to prepare for it and at the end we were restricted to two saves, one from Emre Can, who was easily one of the worst players on that day for Liverpool, and the other from 30 yards out from Countinho, who tried the same trick half a dozen times against Burnley without any success.
Just going about this idea of Mourinho and ManU won't help us a bit because I bet any teams will come to Anfield looking to replicate that style. It's up to is to knuckle down and find solutions, just as Klopp himself as admitted, rather than keep crying about the results from the ManU game which we can't do anything about anymore.

Ed 2. I assume you're fishing here! But what manager in the league do you think would have had the tactics to break United down? Looked to me as if the only way we could score was with a long range effort or a mistake from them. There was no space.

Also, were you impressed with Klopp's tactics to stop United's counter attacking threat?

{Ed002's Note - Why try to defelect to make it about other managers? The bottom line is it was a failure by Klopp to adapt his team to what was coming - and that is because his game remains largerly based on young boys running very quickly at the opposition.}

get a new manager? haha let's get someone like morinho then so I can retire from watching football.

Both Liverpool and to a greater degree United are teams still in development. Klopp is taking us forward and we can ignore any wind-ups about a lack of ability to break down a team cotaining the world record signing, the no.1 goalie in the prem, etc etc. In all probability we would have lost that game last year. By the same logic Ed 002 applies, obviously Mourinho is a limited manager because he failed to put out a side that couldn't beat a Liverpool side he knew would play a certain way. Wind us up if we don't beat West Brom by all means.

{Ed002's Note - Mourinho put out a team not to concede a goal and to get a goal if he could. How many more years transition do Liverpool need - it seems a very long time since Benitez was getting the club in to the top four year on year?~

Tbh Ed02 I thought it was an awful game all round. The way they set up, but obviously he is allowed to set up and play ant style he likes. And from the kick off we just didn't click, nothing went to plan. Partly to how the played. But of course down to how we played also, nothing clicked. A few moments when we looked a little bit like taking the game to them. Not slating the team. Just an off day. Ed02 is right in the sense that many teams will play like that and we need to break them down. Anyway West Brom next. Let's hope we are looking better. Looking forward to the game.

Did klopp not make the changes by taking Sturidge off completely changed the floor of the game.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what the "floor of the game" is.}

Ed002
Couldn't agree with you more on comment about
Benitez.

What I used to enjoy during Benitez time mostly was
Last 15 minutes Liverpool used to Attack Attack
And try to score goals.

Which is lacking since he left.
But I have high hopes this season from Klopp,
Cause when Liverpool played season with no European
Football under Bredan Rodger we almost lost Title.

This year there is absolutely no excuse to finish out
Of TOP 4.
