Manchester United parked the bus and earned a point
Manchester city played attacking football and got hammered by Barcelona
Whose the winner?

Which game was better game watch?
I'd rather entertain the fans and lose than play the turgid tripe that Manchester United played on Monday.

Barcelona. Good riddle.

The only winner in that scenario is Barcelona. Attacking football lost to better attacking football.

In the end it will come down to what you won over the season. This is not a moie to entertain any set of people. Have you seen hw Diego Simeoni's team play footbal. Its worse than Jose.
The reality is we simply couldn't unlock another theam that sat deep And that is our problem.

Your above post is true SCM and it is our problem. Has been now for a very long time.

However, your can't just compare the two situations. City where well in that game and had it not been for CoCo the clown in goal they certainly would not have got smashed.

I thought UTD were completely dominant in the first half as we couldn move out from our own half. I don't know y did they decide to step down in the secnd half. May be that's where Jose earned the point and Pep lost all three.

{Ed001's Note - you talk utter tripe at time Harry. United never dominated at all. Better side in the first half? Just about, but they were far from dominant. Two totally different games with no relevance at all to each other, pointless comparison to make.}

Sorry, did I just hear that football isn't to entertain people and someone else agree?

What utter nonsense, if you aren't entertained by football why are you watching it at all? Of course it's meant to be entertainment!

OK hold on utd was dominant? No they was not in any shape or form, we didn't do the best first half but come off it, your speaking out your backside sweet chin music as per usual.

Dominance doesn't mean to have Infinite shots on target. They keps us at bay and did not allow us any sort of control. We did nothing in the first half an late in the second half for any chance.

Turn the table on original question. Would you rather we had parked the bus against Chelsea, got the point required and won the league OR attack them all match, lose the game and costs us the league. Which would be more entertaining?

Irish

I would do that a hundred times for a PL title. Don't know what people are saying about entertainment. Don't remember a side who has won the title in style.

Ironically if we had parked the bus against chelsea and won the league that entire campaign would have still been remember for the way we blew teams away.

It's about doing what's right and what's needed in the moment to win. That's what Jose does and has proved it time and time again when he wins trophies.

Anyway we drew, we're in the top 4 and when I looked at the fixture list at the start of the season I'm happy with what has happened to this point as our start was particularly tough.

Onwards and Upwards!

Sweet or Harry, if Utd were dominant, why did Karius not have a single save to make ALL NIGHT? If Utd were so dominant, why did they not create enough chances to score? In fact, they created none. So your post is either a whined up or one that is void of logic nor reason nor the understanding of the game. Neither team park the bus so comparing Pep or LE to Mou is just stupid and baseless. Both teams play attacking football as that is who they are and the better team won. It happens. Quit trying to make Mou or Utd look like geniuses because they weren`t and if they were, why are they 7th in the table with one win in five games? I have read about many Utd fans who are actually livid with Mou for playing that way so you prolly wanna stop defending what even they think is indefensible.

Don't remember a year where a team won the title in style? The 2014/ 15 the winning team scored the second most goals. The year we won, City scored over 100 goals as well. The year before, United scored the most and won. Year before, City scored most and won. In none of these years were they the team with the best or even the second best defense winners. In fact, since the days of Chelsea and Mourinho's domination in the mid 2000s (almost 10 years ago if you're paying attention) the team capable of scoring most would win almost every year. I'll give you a clue to discussions when you try it - don't make up facts that are easy to research.

United playing for a draw was only in the interest of Maureen, he knew the media were sharpening their pencils in anticipation of a hammering and he did not want that pressure building.
I think the media will get a chance to lash Maureen before the season is over he is no longer their darling.

I would rather pay my money and see a crap one nil win than a 4-3 loss. as long as we win games and win trophies I don't really care how we do it. I just want to be successful.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, v Chelsea we might have tried to park the bus and still got beat, imagine what would have been said of Rodgers then for changing the way we played, We blew teams away that season and could well have done it to Chelsea as well. By the way not sticking up for Rodgers just trying to be realistic as opposed to being smart after the event.

I actually happen to agree with you to an extent 18&5 and only for a certain slip we were looking quite comfortable in that game. We chased it in second half and got picked off on the break.

I'm not trying to be smart using hindsight but there was probably a bit of a naivety about thinking we'd just blow a considerable threat away. It's not as if Jose sprung a surprise that day parking the bus. It was common knowledge he would setup like that as he'd done it for years. His one and only goal for that day was to prevent Liverpool winning the league and he achieved it.

Certain games may call for a manager to play for a draw. This game did not call for Morinho to play for a draw! If he went for a win, and won, he would have moved up the table, and could have even made the top 4. A draw left them at 7th. So a win was important.

Andy

Not sure what top 4 has he lost after 8 games. Just like we got a draw against the mighty Spurs UTD secured a point away at Anfield. If anything we dropped two pointsat home against the side who we conside notgood enough.
Jose doesn't plan for a single game He plans for a season.

So was him getting outplayed and smashed at Watford and City wiping the floor with him at OT part of the plan as well? Didn`t think so. Harry, the difference is that we play to win and it was our fault we did not beat Spurs as we missed chances that could/ should have buried them. Same with Chelsea and Arsenal away. We won because we went for it. There are different ways of getting a draw in football. You can play for the win and then get a draw like we did vs Spurs or you can park the bus like Mou does. That`s okay with me, really. If Mou doesn`t wanna go for the win first, it`s his decision. He will keep getting draws and those lost points start adding up and will become like losses (3 draws = 6 points dropped = 2 defeats) and I can assure you that many Utd fans are disgusted with his tactics as I`ve seen on youtube and on social media so not everyone thinks he`s a genius. We didn`t drop two points at Anfield because big games are the ones you NEVER wanna lose. You don`t have to win but you dare not lose. In the end, we have a great chance of leaving them further in the dust this weekend BUT we MUST beat the Baggies first, end of.
