Why do you all now seem happy to lean on the 'negative tactics ' stand point .
First 30 minutes of that game I barely noticed a decent forward pass made by Liverpool.
To be honest I was shocked by how poor you were .
2nd half you played far better and that's where those tatics were employed and they worked well too.
You seem shocked that united are happy with the draw and the way we played but with all due respect United have had to deal with the most appalling negative football played against them at old Trafford, giving parking the bus a new meaning.
At the end of the day it's saying more about Liverpool and how well they have started this season and the style of football they are playing.
That was a better result for United and I'm pretty sure Liverpool would take a point from old Trafford next year.

Why? Because it was boring to watch and those tactics are a big reason for that even if Liverpool were not very good on the night. At least we only have to watch it once or twice a year.

If you are happy playing 6-3-1 against your biggest rivals then that's fine :D. If I was a MU fan I would be disappointed because you dominated the first 20 and then sat off and played incredibly negatively. We were poor last night and were arguably there for the taking but Mourinho was content to defend his own box for an hour. Point is I know Klopp would never set up how Jose did last night which I am happy about because I hate negative defensive football.

I think more than anything else we were just surprised how negative you were. In the past regardless of league positions and form a Liverpool vs Man U has always been about two passionate teams both desperate to win. I could not imagine a fergie team with a Keane, G nev, Rio and on form young Rooney setting up simply to nullify liverpool. There was always an intention to win where as last night there clearly wasn't. Yes you played your system well and everyone did their job but more than anything it was just disappointing to play a united team that lacked any passion. Almost took away the best thing about a united Liverpool game and turned it into just another standard prem game.

Again every response focused on our style of play and our attitude towards the result.
You played very badly too. And a lot of teams will go to anfiled like old Trafford and play negative football.
When we won 0-1 everyone from here were praising a loss!

In all years of watching liverpool v man u I have never witnessed a man United team set up in such a poor manner. Mourinho is a good manager no doubt but clearly scared of losing lastnight. He has 2 less points than van gaal had at the same stage of the season last year. Even van gaal would of sent a team out to win. Fortunately I don't support united, but If I did I would be furious. I think the biggest things taken from that game is how poor we were first half yet united didn't trouble us, and 2nd half with more spaces we were well on top. Klopp must be pleased knowing that managers are becoming scared of his team.

sugarcoat it however you want mate but that has to be the most gutless performance I've ever seen from Utd in a derby.

Yes many teams will come to anfield and play defensive football in order to grind out a result. However those teams aren't Man U and haven't spent over £200 mil on players. Yes last year people still praised Liverpool despite the result. That was because of the performance, we outplayed you and should have arguably come away faith a result. But more than anything it showed us the type of football we aimed to play and indicated we were progressing towards towards it. Simply put we were optimistic. I don't actually understand what point your trying to make other than justify your performance to yourself. Good luck playing boring football for the next 3 years or so.

Everyone is hailing Jose the "tactician" . In reality it was like playing against a Tony Pulis side.

The only thing from missing last was a cap.

Hilarious.

Even Randy Ryan and the ubercoach Neville found it hard finding positives in the Utd performance.

I loved the way Carra stuck it to them.

Neville has lost his bottle as a pundit by
Not criticising mourinio.

that is not a better result for united, but the only result they are capable of, which is why they did it even though they really wanted 3 points, they know they are not good enough. manu needed the points more than us. those tactics ain't going to get you up the league. morinho is going to need a few transfer windows before those dire tactics come off, then borinho will be back to his boring best. If he doesn't get the right players though, then i see him failing miserably at united.

Lastsanemanalive, the fact that you are spouting the same drivel as your outdated manager whose football belong to the stoneage, shows how far you have fallen and how small you played. I can understand that your coach was scared of having his arse handed to him for a third straight time by Klopp so he played small and got his point. But to say that it was a good performance away from home, doesn`t even pass the laugh test. Simple example, if that was a great performance by Mou, what would you call Klopp`s performance against this same Mou last season when we went to the Bridge needing a win and not only did we come from a goal down and win convincingly, we played great football while doing it as well? or what would you call the clinic Pep put out vs your lot this season at OT in the derby? You`re talking nonsense and the fact that you came with such negative tactics is actually a compliment to your fear of us than the other way around. Fergie must have thrown up while watching that tripe. BTW, we are still ahead of you with 13 points from 15 possible while you are 5 out of 15 possible points. Deal with that fact.

Spot on Nicky D, a very apt comparison. The only thing missing was the mandatory rugby tackle! The niggling fouls were appalling, the seven man defence was utterly entertainment killing and the lack of ambition was astonishing. Just a shame we couldn't get that bit of luck in the last 20 mins. We'll have 'em next time 😃.
