Karius likes coming off his line, Manchester united would most likely go with long balls Zaltan. Migs should start.

If migs is on, my ticker will be lucky to see the 90 mins out, I'm all for Karius, why people are against him starting I'll never know. if he came on tomorrow and got a clean sheat all you people not wanting to see him tomorrow would go into hiding. how about we get behind the lad. He's not superior but he's better then Migs and he's young, give the lad a chance before judging him.

I agree united will wanna play the long ball to ibra but that's exactly why I would not play migs, he flaps at crosses and finds himself in no mans land all the time.
Play Karius and have matip man mark him.

I don't know who to play in goal just if Karius plays and makes an error some will slate him and we'll be looking at anew keeper in January. My gut feeling Migs because he has played in these and when on form is a good keeper but if Karius plays a blinder then the confidence this will give him. Just want 3 points tomorrow joint top be amazing.

We can:

1) Start a goalkeeper who's shown poor command of his box for 3 years and is poor with the ball at his feet. He hasn't notably improved since we signed him and is coming into his peak years and thus, likely won't improve.

2) Start a goalkeeper who's shown poor command of his box for 3 matches, and is good, if a little over elaborate and to prone to risk-taking, with his feet. It's way too soon to judge his improvement since he joined, but some way off his peak years and has a lot more room for improvement.

It's not really difficult choice for me. Karius was bought to stake a claim to be #1 'keeper and improve into being a top goalie as he matures. If we drop him three matches in for doing nothing wrong that Migs isn't going to do wrong as well, we might as well have not bothered signing him.

Other threads have called for Migs to start because he has more experience. That's nice, but his superior experience hasn't made him into a better goalie than Karius, has it? If it's to be decided simply by virtue of who's played the most games, then shouldn't we start Mannigar?

You will do karius no favors not letting him experience big games and big players. What play him for the easy games is going to better him. So if he makes mistakes this year, he has this hear, he's a kid in keeper terms. Migs had 3 years, 3 years and never showed improvement. The only team who had to change how we play because he was simply that bad a keeper.

Something Red, you are bang on the money. I don't know but it seems that those who want Mingo to start, have been living under a rock or in a coma for the past three years where he has been abysmal on almost every level and cost us points that are into the double digits. He has shown that he is awful and will NEVERTHELESS get better and a few ok performances, seem to have wiped clean memories of his many errors. Unfortunately, many of us don't have short memories and neither does Klopp. Karius is a young goalie with lots of potential and Klopp will stick with him regardless of hell or high water. It's funny how people wanna bin Karius after three measly games. Didn't see nor hear people slating Migs after the first few games he cost us in fact, many made pathetic excuses for him. Karius will be the starter for the foreseeable future and his detractors need to get over it, really.

In my opinion, Karius has been no better and no worse than Migs in the few chances he has had this season. he's yet to be fully tested. i'd like to see Karius get a run of games where he's had to make a whole bunch of saves before fully judging him. Therefore, for me, Mignolet needs to play against Utd, if only because his experience of big games like this give him a slight advantage.

Annie, your post makes very. Littl sense. On one hand, you say that Karius should be given a run of games to prove himself yet he shouldn't play vs Utd because of his experience. What experience is he going to draw from in big games, exactly? Would that b the ones where he conceded two goals, of which one at his near post vs Aresnal, last season in a 3-3 draw? The Capital One final where he got beat AGAIN, at his near post by Fernandinho? Or in the smaller games vs Newcastle at home under Rafa where he flapped at a cross for Cisse to score or where he got beat at his near post by a free kick from Adam Johnson vs Sunderland at home? There's a lot where all that came from or did you think we all have short memories like yourself. We don't and neither does Klopp and he's seen enough of Mingo through out last season (riddled with his errors and bad decisions) to know that he's been crap and this, throughout his three years here. Hence, Karius is now here and a few average performances will not change that. I propose that you give Karius the same level of patience you were so ready to give Mingo when he arrived three years ago. That is only fair. Mingo got his chance and was unchallenged for three years and he blew it. Time to give the kid a chance to prove himself and if Klopp thinks he's good, that's good enough for me.

Wow Hamilton, calm down. My point was probably not clear enough but your vitriol is unnecessary especially when i'm only posting my opinion.
Migs has played in big PL games and, personally, i would let him play vs Utd based on that experience. he's a very good shot-stopper and knows what he is in for.
Karius has played a few games without really being tested yet. i'd like to see him prove he's a better keeper than Migs before holding the No1 spot. i'd like him to have experience of a few matches where he is peppered with shots all game.
I don't know how he would cope against Utd and neither do you but i would prefer Migs experience in a game as big as this rather than give Karius a try to see if he sinks or swims. there's plenty of games for Karius to get experience but, for me, this is not the one to test him with.

{Ed001's Note - he is not a very good shot stopper. Where do people get that from? He is a poor keeper in every aspect of the game. It would be idiotic to revert to Migs now and we may as well just all give up any hope of winning a title at any time in the future if we are going to arse about making stupid decisions like that. You do not mess about changing the keeper back to a failed useless one just because you have reservations about the new one. You stick with the new one until he either proves himself or you bring in a better replacement.}

More than happy to agree to disagree, Ed. I hope Karius is the improvement we all wish for. Time will tell.
