Good day Eds and Reds,

Just remembering a post by Waro a few days back where he mentioned the 5-0 victory over Brian Cloughs Nott Forest back in King Kenny's day; this made me very nostalgic as this was also for me one of the most amazing team displays I have ever witnessed. This alongside the Rafa CL final of 2005 are 2 of my favourite LFC displays for different reasons (there are loads more), but these 2 stick in my mind the most.

What are everyone else's?

The 5-4 against Norwich last season was top class.

How about 4-3 against Dortmond? Breathe taking!

5-0 at Arsenal under Rodgers. We were unstoppable, amazing to watch. Also loved the 3-3 win on pens in the FA Cup final. Stevie just took over the match.

Wolves 1-3 Liverpool 1976, bunked of school to go, Steve Kindon scored for Wolves before Keegan, Toshack and Ray Kennedy for us to win league over QPR on goal difference, think if it was
Wolves win or draw upto 3-3 QPR would have won league,
Remember Gerry Francis and other QPR players watching in tv studio (way before live games) thinking they were going to win it until 3 late goals.

February 91, FA Cup 5th round replay at Goodison Park. We lead 4 times, Beardsley 2, Rush and Barnes all great goals. But Everton kept coming back and equalising all scrappy goals mind. 2 days later Dalglish resigned! . Istanbul obviously, but that tends to make you forget about the amazing uefa cup final against Alaves in 2001, crazy game. Things just kept going our way in the run in that year was like a crest of a wave. Losing the League title at Anfield 2-0 against Arsenal with pretty much the last kick of the season is also memorable but for all the wrong reason's, was 11 at the time and still the only time I've cried over a result.

the dortmund game last year and the CL final for me. The 5-1 against arsenal was also brilliant, didn't we score something like the first 4 in 20 mins or so? was crazy that one.

thrashing spurs 5-0 and that goal and celebration from Flanagan was very special.

You are all obviously too young to remember beating the blues twice at Wembley in the cup finals. They where truly historic days, Istanbul was also incredible.

I grew up with a guy who played in that Forest 5-0 drubbing. Forest were our biggest rivals for everything at that stage, and they'd bloodied our noses a few times.
They were lucky it was only 5, probably the most breathtaking display I've seen from any Liverpool side ever.

Istanbul - me and me mates drove there, were crushed at half-time, resurrected by full time and elated following the penalty shootout. Craziest game I;ve ever watched - that I was in the stadium, for a Champions League final watching my beloved Liverpool, and they managed to win it? Magic. I'll be telling kids and grandkids about it until i'm in the grave.

3-2 against Everton, think 88? Aldridge, then Rush on as sub to bag 2.

This will mean nothing to anyone else but a 2-1 home win against Leicester in September 2003 sticks in my mind. Pen from Owen and volley from Heskey. Night of passion in a hotel with the missus after the game and nine months later my lad was born. That, the 5-0 over Forest and the 5-4 over Alaves stick with me, as well as Istanbul obviously.

Unless we've done it twice, wasn't the 5-1 against Arsenal at Anfield?

For me, having been born in 1990 and never witnessed a title winning side, one of the best team performances we had was the 4-1 win at Old Trafford to keep our title hopes alive in 2008/ 09.

This was no average man united of the last few years.
They were top of the league with Ronaldo, Tevez, Rooney, Ferdinand, Vidic, all in their prime. and we utterly embarrassed them.

Coming four days after a 4-0 win against Real Madrid, that was a good week to be a Liverpool fan.

1977 European Cup Final! I was so nervous watching game. Great team who should have won the FA Cup a few days before. I went from total despair to total jubilation in the space 4 days😀.

1977 European Cup Quarter Final second leg versus St Etienne. We won 3-1, after losing the first leg 1-0. Supersub, David Fairclough, scored the winner, with just six minutes remaining and the roof of the Kop blew off. The best game of football that I have ever seen and the loudest and best atmosphere that I ever experienced anywhere, let alone Anfield.

St Etienne were regarded as the best team in Europe, by most people, at the time, and after that victory, we truly dared to believe, rightly so as it turned out. Happy memories!

Liverpool 7.0 Spurs 1978 I think

Best Liverpool team for me, quality throughout and one of the best team goals from Terry Mac

Great Memories.

I think it was the 87 FA cup final against Everton when Rush scored 2 and Craig Johnson scored the other. and then Istanbul. 🏆🏆🏆.

I remember that game Kloppite. St. Etienne was my favorite non-English team at the time, and it was one hell of a game. And then we went on to beat Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Final. That campaign was Liverpool's "coming out" party on the World stage, I guess.
