I'm with the majority of posters on here who are shooting down the negative brigade. Yes the first half was poor and frustrations are acceptable but there was a lot of knee jerking going on with certain players receiving unwarranted abuse. We just need to stand by our team and save your judgements till after the game, whilst trying to see the bigger picture and not lambasting players for every little mistake made.

My only concern is i feel we looked very shaky in defence once again, which despite the fact we haven't kept a league clean sheet yet, i have thought has looked much improved in the last few games, Chelsea and Hull both converting their only real chance.

The set piece goal has been a problem for us for many years and it will continue unless we learn to stop switching off until the ball is cleared. Both Borja Baston chances on another would have been punished and we were a gilt-edged chance away from losing the 3 points right at the end. Whether this is a communication issue I'm not sure but players should not be allowed to ghost in completely unmarked, in front of goal on 3 occasions.

Its great to see how our attacking play is bailing us out defensively but until these problems are fixed we will continue to concede. I personally would like to see how a Matip-Sakho partnership would fare at CB and see if we can cut out dangerous lapses in concentration. Cheers, HX.

It's not just set pieces that worry me though. Seems to be any crosses into the boxes particularly from deep. Besides the set piece baston had two other great chances from a cross. Added to that Sigurdson took out our defence with a chipped ball into the box at the start of he first and then again at the end of the game.

Hope it is something we can work on, because we have on if the best attacks in the league!

Clyne and Matip were slightly too far apart which left the gaps, must be communication.

When you have 3 of the back 5 having played less than 5 games or so together your bound to have some communication issues.

It's something I'm sure will grow the more game time they get as a unit.

Set pieces are an issue no doubt but that last chance was a keepers ball all day long. Not having a go at Karius by any means but Migs would've been hammered for that!

The negativity is frustrating, if we are to earn our place challenging for the top positions we are going to have to grind out ugly wins like we did on Saturday. We are not Barcelona, we are not going to be amazing week in week out, and even they have rubbish games every now and again.

Teams are going to fight hard against us, esp in situations like on Sat when Swansea were playing for their manager. Last time Chelsea won the league they didn't look pretty for large parts of the season, but still being able to win when playing like crap is the sign of champions. We've had an incredible start to the season, save the moaning for when we are actually in trouble.

Sakho won't play in the first team unless we see several injuries.

His tweets last week have killed off any chance he had of getting back in the fold and quite frankly I think he is overrated amongst too many reds fans.
