I didn't have the chance to watch the game last night, but did Karius do enough to take Mignolets place for the weekend? Taking out the fact none of us want him in goal, did Karius look like he was back up to speed after his lay off and ready to start every week in the prem?

He looked very confident after an injury layoff and way more confident than Mings usually is. His short passing worried me (weight of the pass) but hell get more used to the other players and it will get better i'm sure. I could see an improvement. that's my take on it.

He did okay. He wasn't really challenged or under threat. Flapped at one particular cross, otherwise he did okay. I think it's more a Mignolet howler than a Karius performance that will give him the starting spot.

I really hope so. Personally I think Migs is a good shot stopper but that's about it, he lacks confidence when the ball is crossed and the opposition know that, plus his quick decision making is awful at times, he was the reason Vardy scored the other week, yes Lucas made a mistake but Migs invited the pressure that caused it. Hopefully Karius will make a name for himself, first game and first clean sheet is always a good start no matter who the team is, and let's face it Derby were hot promotion contenders (note i said 'were' as from what i have seen they're woeful at the moment)

I wouldn't class mignolet as a good shot stopper, I know stats don't always tell the story but to have conceded more goals than completed saves is very poor, for any keeper let alone one at a top club like Liverpool.

Migs is number one until he makes a mistake, then Karius can come in. To be quite honest Karius was not tested in the least yesterday, but we did see his confidence on display. Although he may be a little too confident what with the way he was almost at the center line while we were attacking.

How is he a good shot-stopper when we led the PL in conceding at the first shot on target? Also, being a good-shot stopper is like saying a midfielder is good because he makes forward passes. Being a good shot-stopper is the basic requirement of any GK. What else is his fundamental job other than stop shots? Bottom line is Mingo has shown he`s hopeless through out the three plus years he`s been here so there is no longer a debate as to if he will come good or not as he hasn`t and never will, based on visual and statistical evidence. Don`t really care if Karius flaps at a because in his first game because Mingo did the exact same thing vs Stoke three years ago and I was willing to give him time to improve then and so did many other people. I would ask that Karius be shown the same fair courtesy.
