Just a very unlucky break for Lucas. Doesn't effect how good I thought the rest of the match was for him - got no problems with him in that role but needs the big fella next to him to win balls in the air. Great performance yesterday other than the 'own goal' slip.

Wow what a great loyal player we've had. Couldn't agree more.

Wow, Lucas indeed. Produced a top performance for 98% of the game after a long spell out of the first team. Actually looks a proper centreback.

Save for a moment of madness thought Lucas did well. Won a fair few headers and made some timely interventions. Saw Sky gave him 4/ 10 which I think was hugely unfair considering the other 94 mins of his performance! Also thought it was great that the fans sang his song straight after their goal!

On another note my son finally saw goals at Anfield at the 5th attempt . Thanks Jurgen!

Cracking performance!

Agree totally ND that Lucas was quality (mistake aside, obviously) . I love the guy.

But I just have to say that Lucas is excellent in the air, and he was excellent in the air yesterday - he won everything. He even beat the giant Huth to headers (even when Huth was elbowing him in the head) . He is a warrior.

Watch the match again and see how many times Lucas won aerial duels and headed the ball clear. Its not as if the BT commentators were bright enough to notice this though, if his name was John Terry they'd be fawning all over him. He is always commanding in the air. I guarantee you'll notice it more from now on.

His only weakness at CD is a lack of pace, but his positioning kept Vardy under wraps. Vardy was really frustrated when he finally got a run at Lucas and the mighty Brazilian shepherded the ball to safety winning a throw in in the process. I enjoyed that. Great stuff.

Glad to see the Lucas love.
