Hey eds and reds hope you are all well, just a quick one, if you guys could pick a favourite non-Liverpool player who would it be? Personally I've always absolutely loved Theiry Henry always been one of my faviroute players and would of loved to see him at Liverpool used to always be jealous of Arsenal.
Have a good day guys!

{Ed001's Note - I would say probably Zanetti as you took Henry.}

09 Sep 2016 11:36:54
Ronaldinho and gazza.

2.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 11:37:52
I've always been a big Bergkamp fan myself.

3.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 11:58:51
Gazza.

4.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 11:59:27
Gordon Strachan.

5.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 12:02:19
Pavel Nedved for me. He was absolutely fantastic and could do anything with both feet. Had he played in the Champions league (03) and euro (04) finals he would have those medals for sure.

{Ed001's Note - good shout, I loved his attitude. He worked so hard on his weak foot it became impossible to tell which it was.}

6.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 12:45:17
Got to go with Bergkamp myself. Used to absolutely love watching him play.

7.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 12:56:45
Gigi Buffon, such a classy player.

8.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 13:13:56
Do you think Nedved got the credit he deserved at the time Ed001? Or is he some what underrated?

{Ed001's Note - very underrated for me. He was beloved in Italy, but not many people elsewhere realised how good he actually was.}

9.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 13:16:22
Diego Maradona.

10.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 13:19:06
Seriously, not maradona? Must be an age thing.

{Ed001's Note - I think it is more that it is favourite, rather than best.}

11.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 13:33:45
Not that he would be my first choice but Nedved is a good shout, remember watching him at Euro 96 at Anfield and wanted us to sign him, we ended up signing Berger and Smicer, not all bad I suppose Istanbul and all that!

12.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 13:42:39
For me (and don't shoot me down), it is Totti!

13.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 13:42:50
We could have done with Paulo Maldinifor the last 25 years.

14.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 13:44:43
Nedved, Del Piero and Buffon! All of them pure class! Opting to stay with Juve in Seria B!

15.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 13:52:58
Great shout with Nedved, classy player. And also zanetti what a player he was solid. Could use him at fullback now! Cheers for the replies guys.

16.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 13:56:03
I would go iniesta always love watching him play.

{Ed001's Note - I was assuming the OP meant retired players, as he picked Henry, or I would have picked him. Iniesta is my favourite current player. Love watching him. He is, imo, the most vital cog in both Barca and Spain's success in recent years.}

17.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 13:58:11
Brazilian Ronaldo.

18.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 13:03:11
Henry in the league. He was absolutely genius on the pitch and probably the best striker in the PL era. More importantly he loved Liverpool.

19.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 13:25:29
Got to be Zidane for me - made time stand still on a football pitch whilst he decided how to rip a team apart one minute, flash of brilliance another.

20.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 14:08:27
I think it has to be Ronaldinho, he is so so good at his prime, embarassing so many big name defenders.

21.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 14:15:12
Even though he faced Liverpool twice probably Kaka, loved watching him.

22.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 14:29:46
George Best.

23.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 14:31:16
Zidane for me as well Barnes. Could watch him play for days.

24.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 14:33:55
Le Tissier (the player, not the personality)

25.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 15:03:24
me being only 20 makes this difficuly with retired players as I've only been watching all football for about 7 or 8 yeras so all my favourite players are still playing! i will say david silva, absolutely brilliant, for a period was the best player in the league.

26.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 15:07:44
I always liked Diego Milito at Inter Milan. Underrated player!

27.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 15:33:12
Fair point ed001 favourite retired player would be Paul McGrath completely underrated defender in my opinion had everything could play but would put in the hard work aswell.

28.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 15:45:26
Eventhough he was utd- Georgie Best-Class.

29.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 15:54:22
Roberto Baggio or Totti.

30.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 15:05:53
Zidane made things look so easy, I know that is a cliche but that is completely true for zidane. Looked effortless at times the way he just knew how to take a player on. Unbelievable.

31.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 16:48:55
My favourite non Liverpool player was always Batistuta.

32.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 16:53:37
Romario or stoichkov. either would do. pair of loons.

33.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 17:06:10
Im going to get shot for this one Denis Irwin and also would of took Gary Mac 20 years ago.

34.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 17:08:42
Figo, great player.

35.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 17:17:47
Henry first but then Viera for me, would love to have him in our side now.

I also used to love watching Gianfranco Zola - perhaps not the best ever but so unpredictable and had something special. Also seemed to really love the game and be a decent guy but who knows.

{Ed001's Note - I love Zola, he was incredible and such a genuinely nice guy as well.}

36.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 16:20:10
almost forgot. luka modric, was at anfield on my birthday and watched him completely run the show. one of (if not the best) in his position.

37.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 17:36:19
Batigol for me.

38.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 19:00:55
Tie between Ronaldo (R9) and Ronaldinho. Wish I had seen more of Cruyff as a player.

39.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 19:04:14
My favourite players were all from Italy watching them on channel 4 on a Sunday, many moons ago, Baresi of AC Milan and Rubén Sosa also Matthaus of Inter milan.

40.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 19:08:08
Zidane.

41.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 19:12:08
Paulo Maldini. Leadership, Bravery, Hummility, Fierce Competitor and Absolute Boss, all rolled up in one classy human being.

42.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 19:12:19
Lots of nice players, have two not yet mentioned.
1. Love a pacy dynamic CD. Idolized Des Walker while growing up.
2. Marco van Basten scored goals. Always. Scrappy from nothing, aswell as spectacular ones. Such a smart player.

43.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 19:16:33
Cafu for me I just don't think enough can be said about his work ethic and the 2002 Brazil team has to be my favorite of all time possibly certainly that I've seen!

Also Roberto Carlos I'd just pay money to watch the guy run and hit frees! I also love a player with a magic left foot I don't know why I think they seem to strike the ball in a different truer manner!

44.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 20:29:35
Stanley matthews.

45.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 21:03:15
Maldini of Batistuta classy defender or goal machine.

46.) 09 Sep 2016
09 Sep 2016 22:06:54
Sir Tom Finney - the best.

47.) 10 Sep 2016
10 Sep 2016 03:31:53
It's Marco van basten for me such a shame his career was cut short he was phenomenal.

48.) 10 Sep 2016
10 Sep 2016 06:33:31
Pele of course. Then Zico.

49.) 10 Sep 2016
10 Sep 2016 07:36:00
But before my time but michel platini.

50.) 10 Sep 2016
10 Sep 2016 08:00:43
Littbarski and Tigana I personally loved watching.

51.) 10 Sep 2016
10 Sep 2016 15:53:54
My favorites have already been mentioned (Ronaldinho/ Bergkamp/ Brazilian Ronaldo) but another, who no-one has said yet, would be Pippo Inzaghi. Always thought he was an incredibly smart player as well as having deadly technique and an eye for goal - enjoyed watching him play.
