Ed001 as requested I was wandering what you thought of matip's display vs spurs?

{Ed001's Note - cheers kk7. I thought he was very good and looked like he had an understanding with Lovren, who seemed more assured as well. He looked a massive upgrade on anyone else in that position that we have. His passing was a bit off at times, but mainly good and he did try some difficult passes that are more risky but I would rather he did that then just made the easy ones everytime. He looks very good in the air and coped really well with Kane's strength, and there are not many forwards stronger than him.}

Also brought the ball forward really well, very comfortable on the ball.

I agree boys looks like a natural, type of player that can give players around him confidence when he's on, will really shine I just have a feeling about him.

Have noticed he likes to make some short passes through midfield and then bomb forward looking to latch on to a good cross. he did it twice i think against spurs. dnt mind it of he runs hard to get back which he did after the crap crosses got nowhere near him. not sure if its a thing he just likes to do or if its a klopp tactic tho.

Kane is still cultured, we will see how matip cope with Diego costa type of players.

I've known Matip since he played at the WC in 2010 at 18 and in the CL with Schalke when they got to the semifinals in a team that contained a certain Raul and Manuel Neuer in goal and he was very good then as a teenager. He's a very good player and to my surprise, took care of Kane solidly. His passing is off but I like the fact that he's always looking for a forward pass and get forward if the opportunity presents itself. And when he did get forward, Hendo always filled his void at CB. We shall see how he a does the pace of Vardy and the power of Costa but for now, great start.

I like Matip, i like his willingness to go forward, but i think his pace is suspect.

lets not forget sami hyypia had no pace, but his reading of the game more than made up for that.

Spot on, KK7. You don`t need pace if you know exactly where to be all the time.
