If I'm correct that's 19 players moved out that were in or around the 1st team squad. 14 of them on permenant deals. With such change it must make training from now on much more straight forward and focused. Our squad was hugely bloated so that is an important factor in this transfer window that shouldn't be underrated.

I didn't see the Burnly game but I did see Arsenal and Spurs games. Thought we were very unlucky not to win at Spurs, played very well and the manager had made changes to tighten the defense.

A lot of questions to be answered but I don't think anyone can say yet for sure whether it will be a very good or a poor season, questions like.

Will Karius be the top quality keeper we've needed?

Will Matip and Lovern form a solid defensive partnership?

Will Milner adapt to LB? Will Gomez come back in at LB were he was doing so well? If so will Milner push Clyne for RB? (I'm kinda glad that if we couldn't get the LB we wanted we didn't just buy a LB for the sake of it. Those were the mistakes in the past that lead to such a bloated squad) .

Will Lallana find his end product? In the 2 games I saw he scored a goal and provided assists (1 disallowed for offside) . Fingers crossed!

Will GW show us he is a very good player that just lost his way a little? Or not?

Will the right formula in midfield emerge?

Will Mane, Couthino and Firmino pick teams apart? Looks good so far.

Will Origi continue his rise, or will Ings burst forward? Or will Sturridge realise he needs to just keep his head down, mouth closed, work hard and accept that a manager can't repeatedly drop other players who work hard for him everytime Sturridge gets fit for a short time. He might need to take cameo appearances for a little to re establish himself.

So a lot to find out. Over the next 10 games we will have a good idea of how the season will go. Too early to judge yet. At least it's not going to be boring!

Biggest question is will Klopp be able to manage our best CB, big test of his management capabilities, he's already made a massive mistake making everything public.

There are still 29 registered, first team players, so it'll be like a normal class now, not a rowdy, bloated inner-city school class with naughty kids. Teacher will be able to keep an eye on the star pupils.

Heh John B. Not so sure I agree re. Sakho. The player seems to have been given a few 2nd chances but didn't take them. Ultimately a manager has to be concerned about the entire squad and can't let one or two players repeatedily get away with indiscipline, it would ultimately infect the entire squad, especially young impressionable players. I remember when Fergusion got rid of Paul McGrath and Norman Whiteside. Very good players on the pitch but bog drinkers (with Bryan Robson) off the pitch. He kept Robson and cleaned him and showed the entire squad who is the boss and what is expected. Discipline is important, the player got chances, didn't take them and so now is out of favour.

The table doesn't like and the it will show what progress we have made this window. May be by the end of December we wil have a picture of what to expect from this season. But it looks like we aren't serious on the title front this season.
