We played well but same issues come to the fore again and will continue to do so.

Issue #1: Full-backs. Milner played OK and is certainly better than Moreno - but that doesn't mean he is the answer. Caught out for the Spurs goal and, as he is a midfielder by trade, expect those sort of mistakes to happen with regularity. As for Clyne? Woeful distribution for the entire game, woeful defending and highlighted by the Spurs goal, were he challenged the same man as Matip leaving Rose free at the back. It's shocking. 3 games in and in every one of them fullbacks have cost us goals yet we show no signs of amending this issue.

Issue #2: Midfield. Henderson is limited in a defensive role, it is obvious to see. He runs round and tackles hard but he is not allowed any creative freedom and it stifles his game. As for Lallana? He is a waste of space in midfield. Dithers on the ball every single time, never makes a tackle and contributes nothing. Wijnaldum is the same story, different player - does little top nothing in a attack, has an awful passing range, and rarely if ever makes a tackle. Two bodies in midfield who add nothing. And they seem to be Klopp's preferred choice. I know everyone loves Klopp but this team selection is baffling.

Issue #3: Goalkeeper. Was not so apparent in this game, to be fair to Mignolet, but of course the sooner Karius is back the better.

These issues will continue to see us drop points.

Special mentions to Mane, Firmino and Matip - all 3 were excellent today and deserved to win the game.

Migs obviously wasn't at fault for the goal, but it really infuriates me how he falls backwards and twists his body on some saves. it's like sometimes he's scared of the ball!

Can't we just say good effort team, great desire and performance to build on - without our first comments always being negative criticisms?

{Ed001's Note - surely you only improve by pointing out the errors?}

good review seano also not playing a natural goalscorer, those countinho chances should have been put away, from that range the goalkeeper should not have a chance, sturridge should have been on the field earlier also, performance wise we were a lot better than last week, but goals win games and I feared the worst when mane had his goal disallowed and prior to that we passed up those goalden chances.

Spot on Seano. Maybe it was due to injury but Couts was off the boil today. And you're right. Only Klopp can explain to us why Gini and Lallana keep starting in midfield, leaving us lightweight and unbalanced in midfield.

Yeah, ed001. But spotting positives when they occur is also good. The OP lumping in Migs as a scapegoat for no good reason is hardly reasonable. Easier to join the mob, it seems.

Mugs had nothing to do with the goal. He came out to narrow the angle and Rose scored with the outside of his foot which happens. Had Milner and Clyne did their jobs, he wouldn't have needed to do that. Lumping him in is just wrong and disingenuous.

I wasn't lumping him in as a scapegoat, I said he was one of three major issues our team has (based on the season so far NOT just the Spurs game) . It's true he didn't do much wrong against Spurs - but he was at fault in both the Arsenal and Burnley game and, the brutal truth remains, he is nowhere near good enough.
