This has been a really problem for me on my fantasy football team.
I've had to pick only 3 Liverpool players but I really can't decide out of Mané, Coutinho, Firminho and Origi
😩.

Don't pick Origi he will get less games then the rest.

i guess you can also say that he has joined a team that suits his style as well which will benefit him alot.

I went with Mane, Firmino and Origi.

I can see Mane and firmino doing well in fantasy football Ron. Origi if he is cheap enough.

That's what I thought Dezy but he does get the goals and Mané is just settling in.

Get players that will definitely start . Firmino is a must as he is stated as a midfielder and may play striker mane will be good too . I want to keep origi but if we play a three midfield he might not be a regular starter

Couthinio does do enough in fantasy terms so maybe not get him.

Long term klavan and karius might be good bets too.

Get them in there Ron!

I have Mane, Firmino, Eriksen, Barkley and Feghouli in my midfield. Couldn't squeeze in Coutinho sadly. Firmino is a no brainer for me, because we all know he will play mainly as striker, yet they have him down as a midfielder. Therefore he will score more goals than your average midfielder and midfielders get 5 points per goal, whereas strikers only get 4. So you are better off with the high scoring midfielders who also get plenty of assists. Mahrez for example (who I couldn't get in as I already have Kasper, Morgan and Musa) was the highest scoring player last season by miles. 240 Pts. Second was Vardy with about 210-ish I believe. Yet Vardy scored about 10 more and still assisted about 10 as well. Midfielders just get more points as they also get points for keeping clean sheets, and they tend to get more man of the match awards. Strikers usually need to score at least 2 or 3 goals to get MOTM/ star man, whereas a midfielder will pick it up with one memorable pass, or a single belter from distance. Even just running around a lot gets them it sometimes. Darren Fletcher for example scored more points than about 70% of the strikers in the league last season and can be picked up for 4.5m which is half of the cost of a top striker. Yes you read that right, DARREN FLETCHER matched the likes of Costa, Carroll, Bony, Benteke, Sturridge etc. Spend your big bucks on the midfield. Strikers need to score about 20 goals to break the 150 point mark. So unless you are getting Kane or Aguero who are consistently hitting those figures, you are gambling about 10% of your £100m budget on a player who is unlikely to score you many points for your relatively large transfer fee.

The highest scoring defender was Bellerin on 172 which probably wouldn't even put him in the top 10 for midfielders. Defenders are also massively unpredictable as their scores rely heavily on their team performing well as a unit and they yo yo every season. For example, Mignolet could drop 2 clangers into his own net, and Lovren will get deducted points for it, regardless of it being his fault. Plus you have the season before last where Terry, Ivanovic, Skrtel, Coleman and Baines were some of the top scoring defenders yet last season they all scored about 50 points each as they just didn't score the goals they did the season before. The advantage defenders have is that they are very cheap and if you get a defender with a set piece threat like Dann, Williams or Van Dijk, they can get about 120 points for your total at a cost of about £5m.

Goalkeepers are pretty much all the same price anyway and the point system is a farce for them. I believe Gomes was second in the league last year. So you might as well just pick someone who is first choice for a team with a relatively tight defence, and who doesn't get injured often. As a rule I also tend to avoid Liverpool players as we let our hearts rule our head. I just couldn't resist getting Klavan, Mane and Firmino in there though because this is our year, right Ron? ;)

Just go with Firmino. Coutinho doesn't score that well in fantasy. A Mané and Firmino double up could be good if we catch fire.

Mane or Firmino?

Have gone for Mane, Coutinho and Origi. You can never write Cout off.
