Morning Eds and reds,

So mane is having is medical at the moment if the reports are to be believed, I for one am excited about the transfer and I think most people are too.

I think the fear is that he won't perform like he has for Southampton, and the reason why some people aren't happy about the transfer is not about the player but about the reported fee.

If it's to be believed he will be our most expensive player, and when you see mkhitaryin going to United for 26 million fans are thinking the money could be spent better.

I think we have to look at the bigger picture here. We don't have European football to offer these players, we have klopp and some of the best fans around, so let's Back the manager and the players he brings in and wait to see what happens.

Who ever pulls on the Jersey deserves are full support, and we shouldn't be bashing them before they even signed.

Micky has proven multiple seasons in Ukraine (when we were scouting I believe), he has been Armenian player of the year before and has had very good record at Dortmund. Both goal wise and assist wise.

Comparing Micky (assuming they get him for 26 or less than 30) would be a steal when you see Mane going for 34.

Micky might still flop in PL but he is easily much better than Mane. No comparison.

Yeah, as you said we have no other option than to support any player who plays for us.

Cheers.

I don't see how that the fee that ManU are paying has any relation to the Mane deal.
I really do wish that we stop comparing one players price to another, there are more than a few variables that set each deal different from another.

Yes, liverpool are overpaying and I don't blame Southampton for making the most out of the deal if the buyer is willing or is desperate enough (or stupid some cases) .

Now the deal is done (almost), let's just wait and see how the deal turns out at the end of this coming season.

Why compare the 2, totally different type of player, we haven't got CL or any European football, so why would he leave Dortmund to come to us, United will also pay him higher wages, so your comparison is a complete waste of time. Being Armenian player of the year does not make him a great player, and in the 2 games against us this year he certainly didn't look like a class player or game changer, whereas Mane did against us.

Mickey only has 1 year left on contract which effects the price, just saying.

Let's slag our own players again. Yay! Sturridge, Henderson, Coutinho anyone? Any wonder ed2 is all over you the way our players get treated!

1 year on his contract left his wages will b 3 times as much and mane is younger. Players prices have inflated with the billions that's getting put into the premier league. Fans would moan if we missed out on him over a couple million never happy us lot. Let's try get behind the team this year.

Also, i'm sure I read somewhere that Micky wasn't happy under Klopp at Dortmund so he would never have come to us if that's the case, even if we had champions league.

Liverpool found out last season that Mane was a dangerous player to come up against. Southampton received the price they were looking for and now he will be wearing the liverbird, so let's forget the price tag and get behind the lad.
I have always said that I like the player. Pace, power, directness. I honestly believe he will improve our goals for column.
Let's not compare him to players other teams buy and enjoy the attacking play he will bring to the team.

Fair enough, mane is a good player and will improve our first 11. Everyone knows we are overpaying and everyone knows we are shocking in terms of dealings, this is common knowledge by now. United have overplayed before themselves (Luke shaw for example) but we are terrible at negotiating good deals for both leaving and arriving players. In terms of mhkitarian and mane, the better player is mhkitarian. The player we need is mane. We need width and pace, and some quality out there for once.

One thing I wish was possible was doing this sort of deal for Alex teixeria. Now before everyone jumps on my back, it was just a personal preference at the time. From the people we where linked with, teixeria was the one that had the most quality. Maybe at the time we couldn't afford something like that because we weren't selling anyone for big money so it would have been difficult to fund. This is clouded by the statement from klopp who said he won't over pay (won't pay Disneyland money on players or something to that extent) . I just feel like out of the two you would probably rather over pay on texiera. The fee being suggested by sky sports is £34m for mane which most probably would have gotten us teixeria or (let's not look at the past) a better player now. £34m definitely is overpaying and klopp made a mistake saying something like that.

Before people say texiera isn't exactly tearing it up in China, well he tore it up in Ukraine, and most players that come from shaktar all do well at there new clubs so I think he would have been a risk worth taking. Plus he wanted to come to us, and would have worked well with coutinho and firmino. Maybe I'm bringing it up for no reason but my point is why would klopp overpay on a player that we shouldn't over pay for. I want mane, but for that price there are most certainly better players. If he's the best we can get then fair enough, I'm happy with that. Just one more point, African cup of nations. That is all.

Im looking at it like this,
We were a better side up top when we had Raheems pace its just the lad wasnt the greatest finisher, we got 50 million for him and now we're getting a 34 million pound player that CAN finish and will bring more to the team in my opinion, yes I know we used that money on Benteke etc but he also is off out the door and we'll recoup a few quid there too, so you get my logic lol, twisted as it may be ;)

I agree RT, the pace of Mane and Origi will scare the s*** out of teams, especially away from Anfield, that combined with Coutinho and Firmino movement.
At least Klopp has got one of his targets and we aren't left with a Balotelli signing.

Guys,

I was just responding to the OP where there was a mention of the two.

For me Micky is better than Mane but I am not dreaming or suggesting the we should have tried getting Micky.

Also if reports are true where Micky has mentioned that he felt better under Touchel than Klopp, just thinking how will he feel under Jose. As I see Jose and Klopp are more similar in style than Touchel.

Good luck to both. I was thinking Micky might fancy Arsenal than MU because of CL but doesn't look like now.

Cheers.

He did OK in the Bundesliga but his goal return went down from 1 in 2 to 1 in 4 and given that he had one year left on his contract (compared to Mane's 2), it is understandable that he would go for £26, or so. Consider that Man United offered £30m for Mane in January and that Bayern and Chelsea were interested it would seem that Mane is no mug and certainly not a bad player. Like I say, I would love us to sign Reus, but that simply isn't happening, however after looking at the facts and seeing what Mane does bring with him, I think its a good deal.
