Hello House,
Looking at the posts here, it would appear we are not in for any central attacker, if so could the Eds give their opinion of if they agree we are well stocked in that department (Stu, Origi and Ings) or like me believe we need an injury-free 20/ 25 goal a season striker?

{Ed002's Note - The club is overrun with forwards.}

Ings, benteke, balo, origi, Sturridge and Firmino as an option. Think we're okay unless we lose 2-3 of those.

Over run with forwards, who won't get 20/ 25 goals a season like the op said!

{Ed002's Note - We get it, you are a Liverpool supporter who wants a new set of players every year. Not only is it really embarrassing to keep reading these posts, I thought the Almighty Klipperty would work his magic with them all. If Firmino were to go then perhaps another forward who scores mpre goals might come in - or just perhaps yet another attcking midfield player.}

Firmino in his first league campaign got 10 goals despite missing a month out injured and only playing as a striker for the final third of the season. Plus Klopp rested him for the last 4 league games. Suarez in his first season got 11 league goals playing more games in a more consistent advanced position.

I'm not saying Firmino will bang in 23 next season just because Suarez did, but he will certainly improve on his tally of 10, Sturridge is finally fit and firing so he could easily bag 20, and if we sign Gotze or Mane, for all the negativity they will still hit double figures.

No need for this negativity lads.

I think people will also be surprised by Zielinski if and when he signs. He could easily hit 5+ goals from midfield. He got 5 last season playing in a very average team in a very compact league. With better players around him in a much more open league, he could get a lot of goals for a midfielder.

If Henderson stays fit he is a proven 5+ goal a season midfielder.

Lallana and Milner can and will chip in with a few each.

Not to mention Ings and Origi who will grab goals even if it's just off the bench or rotating with Sturridge.

We have not had a problem with scoring under Klopp. I think after Christmas we were one of the top scoring teams in the league. Our problem was controlling midfield (because Hendo was injured so we had the headless chicken duo of Allen and Milner) and keeping the ball out of our own net (courtesy of Moreno, Skrtel and Mignolet mainly) .

Hendo being fit and Karius, Matip and probably Chilwell signing already makes next season one to look forward too. Add Grujic, Zielinski and possibly Gotze to that and we can beat anyone on our day with Klopp in charge.

Let's not forget that last seasons team beat Dortmund over 2 legs without our captain. We are not a bad team.

Benteke and balo won't be at the club next season and Firmino is a attacking midfielder he was when we signed him and is now.

yes dezyboy bt that still leaves us with ings studge and origi fighting for 1 spot.

Dezyboy, he is still a young player. We signed him as an attacking midfield player, but all of his best performances came as a striker. He has been almost exclusively used as a striker by the Brazilian national team as well.

Players change position as they develop. Lucas joined us as the best young attacking midfielder in Brazil and ended up being a great holding midfielder. Ireland had a striker on as a sub the other day who came through the system as a goal keeper. You see what I mean?

Firmino is very clearly seen as a forward by Klopp. Be that anywhere in a front 3, as a second striker, or leading the line by himself. He hasn't played attacking midfield since Rodgers was given the boot.

Personally I don't think we need to bring in another striker. Assuming we can find buyers for benteke, ballotelli and yesil it will leave us with sturridge, origi and ings and will also have firminio to cover as I don't see him as an out and out striker. The only way I think we'll buy in the striker is if one of sturridge or firminio is sold. But I'm happy to stick with what we have and hopefully they can all stay fit.

Kaizer, you don't think 3 players fighting for one spot is too many do you? Sturridge has a history of injuries, I hope he's over them now but you never know, Origi is a young lad who looks like he could be special, but we'll have to wait and see and Ings at the moment, is in the same situation as Sturridge (injury issues) .

I think promoting a young lad, rather than buying another striker would be the best option. Especially as Klopp likes to play Firmino as a striker.

For me though, Ings has to be the main man up top. Just my opinion though, I think he suits the system best.

I've got a strange feeling we're going to sell Couts, move studge to the right to cut in on that left peg, and buy a new striker.
Really don't want too, but I'm thinking we will.
