Away to Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea in the first 6 games and a home game against the defending Champions. A tough, tough start. But one which could make the season.

Take a look at the last 7-8 matches. If were are anywhere near top four we have a favourable run in.

That will be 15 points out of possible 18 then
At least .

You do realise we finished 8th last season for good reason. We lost so many points against so called "Lesser" teams it was untrue lol.

Looking at those games and taking last season as a guide we drew with Arsenal, drew with Spurs, beat Chelsea and beat Leicester. Add to that home games against newly promoted Burnley and Hull another set of decent results could have us with 14 points from our first 6. I think we can be positive about this.

Chelsea will be a breeze (werent they the eleventh best team last season? ), we usually beat Spuds, i'd predict a draw at arsenal. 7 points from 9 is a good start for us.

Why do people constantly talk about last seasons results as if they are any sort of barometer to what will happen in the upcoming season? We beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last season - so what? That does not mean we are guaranteed 3 points this time. It is a very difficult start no matter how you look at it and we have had a few of these intense starts over the past couple of seasons - it would be nice to have a gentle start whereby we can build momentum. It's true if results go our way it'll really set us up - on the other hand if results go against us it will really crank up the pressure early. I'd of preferred an easier set of opening games to be honest.

Beacause season on season you aim to at least equal a positive result and better the bad ones. If you don't you might as well just ask to be in the Championship next season with 38 losses. It's just being positive. Equal the good results try and improve the better ones. What's wrong with that. Oh I forgot as LFC haven't signed any 'superstars 'yet ( and they may not) there's no point in wanting them to do well.

@tom - what are you on about? My comment has nothing to do with who Liverpool sign or wanting them to do well. I have no really commented on any of the transfer rumours circulating because I have no knowledge of either the players linked or the clubs actual interest - use the search function for my name if you don't believe me. I always want Liverpool to do well I just find it bizarre how fans start tallying up points and results before a ball has been kicked based on last season - to me that makes no sense.
