The thrills of EL games this season means I will be disappointed if we don't have them next year. I hope they are in CL but no Europe next year would be disappointing. As far as your question of would it affect incoming players - not EL in my view. It is CL that players want to be in, and rightly so.

Same here, would prefer to play in at least EL but I would not see it as the end of the world.

I think our squad is good enough as is to make top 4 provided we get a new GK at least and besides I also agree I can't see it making a massive diff in recruitment given the club/ Klopp factor/ cup final run we've just had pointing to a bright future. As a player I'd rather join this team now than at the end of last season having just seen Liverpool thrashed 6-1 and in disarray!

I think the real difference comes between CL and nothing and even then probably overstated if a player believes in the Manager and future of the club.

'Finally, I honestly believe that, GK notwithstanding, our current squad, with a full pre-season with Klopp and potentially only domestic success to concentrate on can go a long way next season. Certainly top 4 if not a decent title tilt'

With all due respect zeddicus the above statement truly has to be one of the most moronic things I've ever read on this site and as you know we have our fair share of village idiots on here.

I wouldn't mind us playing another season in the Europa League, but as that is no longer an option, the CL is of course a bigger tournament and a better tournament to be involved in.

However, I disagree that we have a good enough squad to challenge for the title next season currently. Leicester showed that if you work well as a team you can achieve the impossible, but I cannot see that sort of a feat being repeated regularly. 4-5 pertinent signings should help us make a strong push for the CL places next season, but we need to leave sentiment out of this, and let go of players who are simply not good enough to take us to the next level first.

The Europa league has made this season. I'd be gutted if we weren't in Europe but I know we will be 😎.

I agree that not being in Europe helps the squad focus on the EPL. That said, I am selfish and much prefer to have two good liverpool games to follow every week than one.

I agree with Zeddicus and think that Brenda is showing his normal black and white view of the world here. This squad as it is has battered Chelsea, City, United and Villareal, has beaten Leicester and Dortmund, didn't lose to spurs etc. We have shown that this group of players can match anyone - there is no reason to think they can't get top 4 (with Matip especially already coming in)
