A lot of posts saying hendo is best higher up. Whilst this may be the case, there are some major issues with this for me. Whilst it utilises his pressing, he won't be as affective there as coutinho or firmino or even lallana. His finishing is almost non existent, can't seem to keep composed. I've said it before I think he can be a good defensive midfielder, he's fit, can tackle, not bad in the air, and pass a ball well. His range is good, but his vision isn't the best, so deeper allows him a little more time to pick passes.
I think if he does play attacking midfield, it takes up a position of a player who is far more influential than him, probably pushing firmino out to the right. If he plays right side, I don't think he's got the pace or trickery needed to unlock teams in the games where the opposition sit back. It's clear klopps looking at 4-2-3-1, so these are basically the three options.
I hope people don't think I'm slating him, I like the guy, think he's the right for captain at the moment, but don't think he will score enough higher up.

Seriously u lot.
Talking about fickle fans.
So Henderson was unpayable 2 seasons ago when we almost got the league. How badly we missed him during that 3 game ban. Now, after being for a while injured, and playing with pain suddely he becomes a liability and not good enough anymore. Yeah sure. Get ride of him for peanuts, and then let's spend some more, and bring somebody "with the proper quality" for over 30 million. Then if the new midfielder doesn't cut it blame on Rodgers. Oh wait.
FICKLE fans FICKLE fans FICKLE fans.

Spot on, Ksmeron. Some of our fans are getting worse by the day when they slate a player who is CARRYING AN INJURY but still plays for the shirt. Yet these same fans come on here slating players for not having loyalty nor the bottle to play thru pain yet we have one who does both and they slate him. Good Heaven!

Fans have a choice who they like to watch play for our great club and you could sit down with a cold beer and have friendly banter all night on your choices, I guess those that choose to just bash players will always take that road, I scream at a player that's playing rubbish but that's just football, one of the reasons I love this site is such different views, end of the day the players selected for the match day squad every week get my backing no matter what.

I don't think it's noble to play with an injury if that injury restricts you and lessens your performance which consequently has an adverse affect results. I rate Hendo I really do and don't advocate getting rid but I would prefer a healthy player taking his place which will until is injury has heeled (pun intended)

If the club sell Henderson this summer I will be seriously p****d off. He's having an ok season with a pretty significant injury, imagine how good he could be next season if he gets on top of it. Can't believe its even being discussed.

Two pointseparate I disagree with fencey. First is that he doesn't have good vision. like really? He can pick out a great long range pass and can pick pick out a good through ball.

secondly his composure will come. He just needs to have a good run of goals and hisee confidence will sky rocket in terms of goal scoring. Hendo is a very technical player and to be honest it surprises me he doesn't score more.

I agree handsomeson haven't been playing well nowadays. But I don't think pushing him more forward is a bad idea. 13/ 14 season he provide lots of assist. With his flick and some clever first touch pass/ cross. Due to his current position which require him to sit in front of defend more often, he can't utilise what I felt is 1 of his best attributes. Which is making late run into the box. Hendon did have decent pace. His pressing energy will be vital in winning the ball higher up the pitch.

Even with the injury he is my preferred option as CM, Milner and Allen just aren't good enough to start in that role as first team players.

As regards to his passing and vision, no other English player has more assists than Henderson since 2013/ 14. So unless we are saying all English players are rubbish which is a different argument, he is obviously doing something right.

Henderson is definitely one of the most important players in the team, and even thinking of selling him would be stupid.
