Ed001 - penny for your thoughts on Goetze and whether he is worth £30 odd million for us? My sense is he may have hit the peak of his career and will struggle to reach the heights of 2-3 years ago. Therefore we'd be better served looking elsewhere.

{Ed001's Note - I have not seen anything worth spending that much on, but I have not watched a lot of him. While he is not as injury prone as I assumed, he is usually injured when I have watched his teams, even when he has played he has not really done much. Those watches are very much spread out over the course of his career though, so it could be just I am catching him on bad days. Certainly Pep does not think he is up to much and has been very disappointed with him.}

he could do well under klopp, but i am not sure where we would play him. he isn't exactly a winger and we need one winger. plus we have two players in coutinho and firmino that are like him albeit much better than him. although a 4 man attack of coutinho firmino and goetze with either of studge, ings or origi upfront sounds like a dream fifa team. but then again such a team would need a very strong core and defence to back them up. i'd have a look if we can manage to offload players . Also Pep is miffed with him so we wouldn't know better than him.

Never known where all the hype about Gotze came from. He scored the winning goal in the World Cup final, and put in some quality performances for Dortmund but he has always lacked consistency and his fitness record is not actually great. For 30 million, we could sign a quality young GK like Horn or Karius and a quality winger to add variety to our front line. Gotze is just another CAM we would be stockpiling on top of the excess that we already have. Not to mention some of the big hitters will be after him like Juve, Barca etc. Pointless addition imo and the club has more important issues to worry about than Gotze.

Would Klop even want Grotze? If I remember correctly wasn´t he signed by Bayern like a week before Borutssia played them in the Champions League final and then he was "hurt" for the big game?

Muller is always a player who caught my eye for Germany if we were to look at any German players. I know this isn't a realistic signing!

If we can get Goetze then we should go for it. He is pure quality. We have lots of CAM's but none so good as him.

Don't dismiss him just because Guardiola hasn't given him regular playing time.

Like a more effective Lallana, however, Lallana seems to be getting the message and looking for the early ball.

If Lallana was worth £25m then Götze is worth £30m but he's had a bit of injury trouble.

I'd rather see what Kloppo can get out of Lallana as he is improving and looking for the early ball. I'd only sign someone if they were a definite obvious improvement otherwise keep our powder dry.

I agree muller is a player i always liked just seemed to always be in the right place to nick a goal. He was a god for me on fifa too 30 yard screamers 😂.

Lallana lacks quality, he is mid table level at best, we should improve any position that we can.
Winger should be our priority, last top class winger we had was Steve McManaman.

I don't think Lallana lacks quality, he has a very good technique, he just lacks confidence and timing. His timing is improving, there's no guarantee Götze will be any better IMO.

Goetze ain`t worth 30m on the last year on his deal. That is just hogwash and NO coach with a functioning brain will have his club pay that money for an injury prone player, athough talented. Nothing else to see here.

I think he's one who is great for his national side, doing well in tournements etc, but bread and butter league he is average to above average. Certainly no world class superstar. I'd say he is one that does wonders in a side built to his skills but goes missing in those teams where he is just another player. He doesn't grab a game and win it, but is can get into a position to poach a win.

Overall not a £30mil player.
