Thanks Ed1. I was going from the quote in Ferguson's biography. He said that they looked at Henderson a lot and that Steve Bruce was a big advocate of his but they thought he'd have problems down the line because of his gait. It does sound like he was struggling to come up with a decent reason why Utd didn't buy him.

{Ed001's Note - it was a load of crap as he wanted him but never got him. Typical of Fergie, he could be very bitter when he wanted to be. Hendo was a long term target that he continously chased for a while, only to miss out on him. There have been numerous times it was the other way round. It was a very public pursuit he made of Henderson, so that is probably why he was narked, he hated losing anything, even when it was just a signing, to Liverpool.}

Although I wouldn't argue against him being a good player, stats will never truly convince fans or paint the full picture. He should be in the team but not captain. He should have been in the first 5 pen takers Sunday. If Klopp didn't fancy him for it that also speaks volumes. Also remember this is the same player who let Balotelli take the ball off him for a different penalty. Can you see Gerrard or any of our previous captains allowing that to happen . We desperately need someone to lead us and it doesn't appear he is suitable.

{Ed001's Note - a good leader does not lead by being the most arrogant or telling everyone what to do. Sometimes a good leader has to know when to step back and let someone else take charge. How do you know his injury was not hindering him so it was decided he would be better off not taking one? How do you know it was a choice made? No one knows and yet you lot are all ready to slag him off because of pure ignorance. Fickle fans. That is all this is. Fickle and it is disgusting.}

So if you're captain you also automatically need to be a good penalty taker?! Hendo has said he was up number 6 and Kloppo chose the takers and the order.
