Every time Joe Allen comes on for his brief cameos, Liverpool look a whole lot better.
I really think the time has come to give him a starting berth in place of Emre Can, who holds the ball too long, runs too often into a blind ally and just does not distribute the ball well enough for the position he plays.

I agree, Emre Can does absolutely squat all, and I find him infuriating to watch. He's like Pacman, he just blindly runs himself into blind alleys to let himself be swarmed by the opposition. There's the defence that he's young and learning- but is he? Is he really learning? Because he makes the same darn mistakes nearly every week, and nor has he noticeably improved ever since he arrived last season. For a box to box midfielder, his attacking impact on the game is very negligible.

While i agree about giving Allen a start and that Can has plenty of improvement available, i do not agree about Can all round. He will be a very good player given time.

Yes- if he learns how to think and play at the same time.

wisery, you're not allowed to criticise Emre Can around these parts.

You are allowed to criticise Emre but be prepared for people to disagree.
I actually agree he's having a bad run and could do with being rested and Allen has started lifting his head up before passing these days. He has definitely improved.

He's only young and will learn and I agree with Ron maybe a game or two rested would be good.
