Hi eds,

I am relatively young liverpool fan, 13 years of support. Since i started watching football. I have been hearing the same from players, coaches and fans the same thing. our aim is top 4, we need to challenge for cl place. when other teams fighting with us . arsenal, manu, chelsea, even city. their aim is title. i think mentality of club. to maintain top 4 let them way down. league. size and structure of club like liverpool should fight for top spot.

By saying top 4 u are pulling out of title challenge straight away and start fighting for 5th spot. coaches and players are in comfort zone i guess. in my opinion. if you are sure, you are not going to get relegated, then best position to for is top spot.

That is a different story we all know, but wenger keeps them in top 4 somehow :).

Basically there are teams fighting with relagation, 15, top 10, top 4.

There are sizable teems fighting for top spot, i don't think spurs command to say we are looking for title.

Truth is there are not many competition for title, i want liverpool in that bracket. not with tottenham. sorry its sad truth. hopefully klopp is the beginning.

Without trying to at least get into the top 4 and compete for the top 4 trophy than you have no chance of ever winning the league. It should be our first priority to try and establish ourselves as regular Champions League competitors before trying to push on. Its been a long time since a team came say 5th or 6th in the league and won it the next season.

i hear what you're saying and probably right, but the other argument is if you ensure you're top 4 regularly it makes a big difference to your global profile, finances and attractiveness for players, and then more often than not you'll be having a realist chance to challenge for the title every so often. At the moment we're a fairly consistent 5-6 side with the occasional outperform to get top 4.
