I went to the game yesterday and I thought it was our best performance of the season by far, we played with a lot of intensity especially first half, and was very unlucky not to take our chances in the second, we played very well, great to Sturridge back, and Ings get his first goal, if we play like that we will win more than we lose.

Not sure what game you went to but it can't have been the Liverpool match. You realise it was Norwich we played and not Real Madrid?

It's your job to be there Brendan

People will be blinded by the result and hate for Rodgers.

Mighty Red- I went too and I thought we were nothing more than ok. I thought Sahko, Lucas and Ings did well and that's about it? Studge although great to see is obviously miles off the pace yet. Milner, Can, and Migs were quite poor. I'm trying to be glass half full but, I don't think we're close to a top 4 side. Hope I'm wrong

I agree mighty, he needs this season at least. a bit of stability wouldn't go a miss either maybe a new contract?

It would be sad to see him go imo.

:)

blinded by the result?! how can you even suggest such a thing mighty reds? what is else is there to play in football other than the result - and in this case 1 1 home to norwhich says it all

Mighty reds - Is it a huge revalation that results matter in sport? You are aware that very few teams would lose points to Norwich at home this season? Do you think 8 points out of 6 games and 13 in the league table is not enough a reason for people to be critical? They need to be blinded by hate for BR to think that it is not good enough?

Very few teams will let us so much space. If we cannot take advantage of our chances against Norwich what should we do against the likes of Chelsea or City?

By the way missing our chances, being wasteful and not making the most of control and possesion was one of our main problems last year. It is nothing new or one offish.

We played okay against a side we should be beating, and it was an improvement over previous performances this season on the basis that:

1) We had two center backs who were prepared to bring the ball out themselves once in a while, rather than going through Lucas every time (usually after a painful number of touches in which they go nowhere), giving us more than one route to build attacks from the back.

2) We had genuine width on both flanks, and seemed to have some sort of coherent attempt to get balls into the box to our forwards. Moreno probably attempted more crosses in that game than the entire team did in the previous 5.

Both of these things gave us a bit of much needed variety in our play.

It is something to build on, but we still lacked composure & control in possession and relied on Coutinho too much when we kept the ball for more than a few passes. And when you also consider the fact playing like utter garbage since at least last March, you'll have to excuse people for not falling over themselves with excitement about one point and a performance that was decent, but not exactly something you could describe as good.

Nothing to do with being "blinded by the result and hate".

I thought we did ok yesterday. Thought Sakho had a good game as did Moreno but I don't know where everyone gets this Lucas stuff from. I must be missing something because he is shocking for me. Not mobile enough, not strong enough, can't pass, can't shoot, gets caught in front of the ball all the time then gives away dangerous free kicks by trying to recover.

As yourself this, would he get in any top 10 side in the premier league? I don't think he would. Don't get me wrong I love his attitude and he's been through hell at our club and come out the other side showing what a great human being he is but as a player? Not for me.

Mighty Reds is just a wind up or Brendan's new bird. Ignore.

Milner was rubbish in the first half and slightly better in the second.
Lucas was his usual self, won the ball, often gave it away plus lots of fouls. He was not the best but also not the worst.
We looked better in the second half but I'm a long way off being satisfied.

Lucas was excellent, he was the reason we created our goal by pressing the ball high up and turning over possession.

Agree on lucas. He's got a problem giving dangerous free kicks away and always has had. Mignolet wants dropping again. Good to see Ings have a impact. The guy has desire which a lot of our players don't seem to have. I must admit milner has been a disaster upto now, wins the ball gives it away. The manager can't take all the blame but should of been sacked in summer and the players need a reality check
