I will try to answer. The positives as I see them is I think we are closer to finding our best 11, Sturridge seems fit physically and also fits well in our style of play unsurprisngly. Ings scored a good goal. Moreno played very well. Sakho is so much better than Lovern. We moved the ball quite well, created chances (not enough but probably more than in any of our previous games) and seemed in control of the game. Norwich had very few chances and didn;t bother our defence too much.

Negatives, our finish was terrible, passing especially in the last third was poor. Generally very wasteful, Coutinho in particular should have scored at least three goals today. We conceded from a set piece which would not be the end of the world for me if once in a million years we would also score from corners but our corners/set pieces is a waste of time. Milner works very hard but produces very little. Benteke (who got injured apperantly and was substituted in half time, another negative) seemed a bit lost and played quite deep. I missed Norwich goal but I understand Mings was at fault.

Generally speaking no disrespect to Norwich but they are one of the weakest teams we played this year, they left us a lot of space, the top 4 will score 3 or 4 against them easily and when we score only one, it is hard to see how we can score against better teams who will close the game. If it was a pre season game I would maybe say there is some hope but if you don;t beat Norwich at home, and get 8 points from the first 6 games of the season it is probably time to start think about next season in terms of the league.

From my vantage point:

Positives - Danny Ings changed the game running off the defenders shoulders and getting in behind them. Clyne - solid. Sakho - my man of the match. Won every header, always looked to pass forwards. Can - a few worldie diagonal passes out to Moreno.

Negatives - Milner had a garbage first half, slight improvement in the second. Mignolet's punch for their goal, basically handed it to him on a plate. Coutinho largely anonymous except for a few good touches in first half and his terrible miss in the second. Mignolets kicking - abject. Defenders having to bring the ball out of defence and having no-one to pass to because we are too static. Benteke was anonymous, the lad is too easy to mark. Too slow in possession, when we have the opposition on the back foot we faff about with it, passing it back. Get the ball in the box when you have the opposition stretched! Lallana didn't do much but what he did was useless. Oh and the foul throw, think it might have been Firmino - pathetic.

{Ed001's Note - it was Couts, he did the same midweek but it wasn't given.}

Worst aspect of today was the crowd. Might as well have played this game in a field; no noise, no passion, no lift for the players.

Fed up with Lallana being the scapegoat, at least he tries. Team needs something, a lift, a new manager, whatever, but we were dire. 1:1 at home to Norwich, I mean, come on.

Agree about the crowd, you could hear a pin drop.
Been like that for a while now but I suppose that's modern football grounds for you.
Would probably get another 15% out of the side if the atmosphere was better.

Lets get a little perspective here. This was Norwich - hardly the kings of europe. It was a home game and we rested half the team mid-week so that they would be fresh for this.

If we think we are top four quality then we should have walked this, what is basically a filler game.

We had a lot of possession but spent far far too much of it passing backwards and sideways. Our finishing was diabolical.

Norwich were worth their point and defended very well when they needed to - and most of the Prem has a better defence than Norwich.

If you find a positivity in a draw at home against Norwich with a 300 million squad assembled, you need a doctor immediately or accepted the mid table life.
Good luck with both
