In my opinion it would just be nice to get a settled squad and only have to make a cpl of marque signings. That does mean giving the players we have a decent chance and getting rid of the players we don't want. Its no good adding 6 or more players a season

Last year we had sterling and ballotelli who where household names. Maybe we should sign a few more players like that? Lol
Plus you can't buy a butty from subway without seeing one of our players faces looking at you.
Personally if my girlfriend doesn't know the names of footballers especially as she doesn't watch it either it can only be a good thing if ya catch my drift.

Who was Suarez when he first turned up?

Nothing to say some of the current squad will not develop into "household names" - Couthino, Firmino, Hendo.

If we win trophies, what will it matter?

Better for these lesser known players to overwhelm than "big names"/big money signings underwhelm - Carroll, Torres.

Exactly but for some reason every summer regardless of who is our manager they seem determend to buy as many players as possible.

So would it be best to forget benteke and go with what we've got.

Sturridge fit you can play him and firmino up top, and for the best part of the season when Sturridge is injured you play firmino and Ings up top.

I could be wrong but I cannot remember the last player we bought who came into Liverpool as a world class player. Torres, Suarez, Alonso etc. All players came in with good reputations but far from the world class players they became. I am sure they would have reached that level regardless of coming to us but players like Firmino, Coutinho and to a lesser extent Benteke could reach the level of the past players I mentioned above. There is no point in hoping for big names just pray for players who will improve the team and help get us challenging for the title.

Suarez`s footballing ability was never in question when he arrived. The reason we got him, or at least one, is that very few top teams viewed the risk as outweighing the reward. He kicked on with us though and to my mind cemented his place in the top 3 attacking players in the world, which I believe justified whatever risk involved in Barca's mind

Ed, I know you're going to slaughter me for asking, but where do you get the £70M spent figure from? I know there are all kinds of fees involved and signing bonuses, but my poor little brain can only see £40-50M spent on transfer fees so far.

{Ed002's Note - Gomez, Firmino, Clyne, add-ins for Firmino, Signing on fee for Milner (very significant), signing on fee for Bogdan (small), Compensation for Ings (about £7-8M), money to but out Jones, money to release Manquillo.}

But that's not 70m .................

{Ed002's Note - And so the dumb fucks start again on me. You want to start splitting it up to try and justify the ignorance of the Liverpool Echo? I can do that to the embarrassment}
