As you may guess. an avid reader, never before posted.

So.

Who stays and who goes from the most recent signings?

Can - stays, no question.
Markovic - a good first season for a 21yr old and needs to stay.
Lallana - a season of injuries never helped him, but a quality player that must stay surely?
Moreno - a steady first season and only 22! for me has to stay.
Lovern - looks over priced, but only 25! for me has to stay.

Origi - obviously not played with us this season - looking forward to seeing him in a red shirt.

Lambert - at £4m I still think a good value squad player - just Rodgers never saw Sturridge being injured so much! I wouldn't have a problem with him staying as a squad player as an option

Manquillo - doesn't matter, a loan sigining
Balotelli - worth a gamble, didn't work out. Has to leave.

2 to go from 9 isn't bad surely?

As far as bringing in so many new faces, I don't feel it's as bad as everyone is saying. I rememebr a number of people saying Henderson was over priced and a complete waste of money and to get rid! - now look - the same people are claiming he's the new Gerrard! Maybe he is - but only because he has had the time to settle.

I hope Rodgers stays - I fear a new manager will see the in and out of around 10-15 players and we really will suffer for another 2 or 3 seasons as very few players arrive and hit the ground absolutely flying, scoring 30 a season and winning awards.

I don't get where all this "get rid of the manager" and "get rid of all his signings" mentality has come from - it's not what I've seen as Liverpool FC being about.

YNWA.

I agree with some of what you say. I don't want any of the summer signings bar Balotelli to be sold as I do think they have time on their side to improve and some players do need it (Ronaldo was awful for 2-3 years at united).

I'm not sold on Lovren but I would keep him as we can't really afford to be spending more money on defenders again and we will be unlikely to recoup anywhere near what we paid for him.

I'm actually in favour of signing nobody and using our youth team, we already lost too much time with some good young players thanks to Rodgers insistence on not playing them and many will now leave the club.

To be fair Moreno has been a total let down . Wether that's don't to Rodgers or not I don't know . He's caused so many goals . If lovern is getting battered then he should do to . He's young and hope he learns . But I don't lay it on the new guys . Not lamberts fault he's out of he's dept. balotelli we all knew was a waster. Some players at lfc who are held higher than what they actually are . I like can and coutinho and Lucas on he's day . Ibe I like . Jury out on lallana and lovern .

Good post

The quality of the signings aren't the issue, it's the fact we didn't need half of them, over-paid and playing them all out of position regularly hasn't helped either. What we needed was a striker and he didn't get a proven scorer in. We have 4 strikers when sturridge is out at a cost of 40 mil all bought by BR. One has been shipped on loan and the other 3 rarely get played, if they score they get dropped. Sorry but we are only slightly better off after 3 years because we have a marginally better squad which BR spent over 200 million on. Kenny got sacked for having more success than BR in 18 months so why should
BR be given yet more time and money?? If he had said to FSG this will be the outcome of my first 3 years in charge and how much it would cost them do you think there is a chance in hell they would have appointed him? No, so why would we perservere with him with so little improvement?

Sure, you wouldn't mind having them. Think of it this way: What is you are given the choice of buying all 9 of them with the season they have had with LFC. Would you buy them? Thought so.

Balo been better than ball hog Sturridge for a while. Bidders just refuses to play him

Last season was the biggest improvement in many a year. Selling a player and bringing in as many young players who can be taught to play a certain way makes perfect sense.
It won't all come together in one season with so many new faces. If the same happens again this summer with transfers, we'll be in the same position again.
With the exception of Origi, for obvious reasons, 2 players to go from the 9 is a good percentage.

I only wouldn't buy Balotelli or loan Manquillo.

Lambert is an utter bargain for £4m as a squad/option player and Borini should have gone out the door when he came - but refused!

Up there fo the next 4-5 seasons is a CB, LB, CM, 2xAM and FW.

It is utter insanity to say to players: "Hey! Come play for us, you have 9 months to be the best in England or you can. OFF"

No, it does not make sense. When you almost won the PL, you may have lost your best player BUT you don`t go rebuilding a whole new squad which would only set you back 2 years because they will need time to blend and that type of time we do not have because we`ve already pent 25 years in "transition". All we needed to do was bring in 3 top players to a)replace his goals and b) make the first team squad better. he did NONE of these. This along with his well-documented blunders have set us back this year and we will be in a mess come this summmer for whatever manager (I hope) comes in. Swisch is also right that BR after 3 years and over 200m wasted should be held accountable for his broken promises and not be rewarded for mediocrity and failure/ if Kenny got the sack after winning a trophy and rafa got the sack for winning 4 trophies, why should BR be kept for winning NOTHING? Care to answer that?

Why 200m wasted? All players are some form of asset, that's simple.

Kenny took the job until they found the right person, that was always the way it was going to be. He said so himself. Everyone said he wasted the money as well, along with every other manager previous since we won the league.

It's the same as when people bang on about wasting £35m on Carrol - We didn't, Chelsea paid for him because we don't have the resources. Hence why they took Torres for £50m - so £35m of it went straight to Newcastle.

What we sell we use to buy.

To get rid of Saurez and buy 3 top players? What's a top player? Someone at Real or Barca? Liverpool can't afford: a) The fee and b) The wages.

It would have utterly crippled the club to replace Saurez with say:
Cavani, Falcao and the various other £175,000+ £50m+ plus players.

Bringing in 9 players allowed the squad to grow in size and depth - lest you forget how many more games we needed toplay this season.

Your right - we don't need any mroe transition. So why go and get another new manager and whole new set of players. I presume we should bring in a top manager with those top players? Again - something we can't afford and people we can't attract!!

{Ed002's Note - Dalglish took the job until sacked as the result of the action of Suarez.}

Liverpool, spent over 110 mil last summer- easily could have bought 3 quality first team players and their wages i'm sure would be less than the combined of the 9 or so players he did buy. Had we done that we wouldn't be looking back on this season with the highlight being going out to chelsea in the semi -final of the league cup. we had a big squad- BR shipped them all out on loan after deciding after 9 months they weren't good enough and went and bought another load of players that no doubt he will do the same with given the chance. he could have bought 3 first teamers and started giving some of that squad a fair chance as well as some of the youth players.
