Wow. Wow omg! Coutinho and sterling off, Gerrard still on. Your kidding me.
And if by some miracle we should luckily win this terrible match BR will think he's a genius.
He's clueless
Last season he looked good cause we had a small squad so the team picked itself

You are talking rubbish. I think Cout is injured and Sterling was really poor but don't let that stop your little agenda of having another pop at Gerrard.

Coutinho and sterling off, Gerrard
================
Because maybe he was the most threatening out of the 3. Anyway I think the subs were with Wednesday in mind and doubt Gerrard will be playing

3.) 07 Feb 2015
He's been utterly dreadful, I and I'm sure many others could see that early on, why he's still picked is beyond me, he literally offers nothing at this stage because his set pieces are terrible too.

I'm going to go ahead and assume Coutinho's substitution was precautionary because of the knock he got. I'm hard pressed to see Rodgers subbing him for tactical reasons after he was in the heart of our only real good spell in the game.

Glad to see your post Irish, Its disgraceful the posts about Gerrard. They ignore anything good he does in a game just because the latest trend in here "Gerrard is a passenger" . How I wish that over head kick went in, how fitting that would've been for his last derby

6.) 07 Feb 2015
Sorry but Gerrard carried little to no threat and, on top of that, provided little to no movement, workrate or creativity. He did nothing in the game, why is that so difficult for fans to swallow?

I don't fancy our chances on Wednesday ,because we play Spurs Tuesday but I can't remember who we play on wednensday .

Really a poor derby, but I think Everton played for a draw, and achieving that by countering our tactics.
Don´t think BR could have done a lot to change a game, as Everton had parked the bus for most of it.
I was also baffled by the sub of Pip instead of Gerrard, but I think he carried a knock from the first half.
It was clear to see that Gerrard has grown frustrated about the situation, his body can´t match his football intelligence unfortunately.

Agree some odd subs, but while Gerard lacked a bit of mobility in the high press, he did look dangerous when the chances fell. Almost hit top corner with a free kick, could have been a tap-in when Sterling went direct instead, and the overhead kick was almost a legendary moment.

I think the main issue for me was we lost any penetration from midfield with Allen on and Coutinho off, meaning Everton could drop deep and pack the spaces making the game pretty difficult to break down.

I'd have loved to seen someone come on at RCB to push Can pushed into Midfield over Allen, however we clearly lack a backup there that everyone trusts. Failing that we should have left on Coutinho on and taken off either Sterling or Gerard. We could have done with that touch of creativity at the end.

The Irish rover.
I suppose you want rush, dalglish on the pitch too.
Bottom line is Gerrard is finished at liverpool. And stayed on a year more than he should of.
Yea we all love Gerrard, and suarez, and Torres, and rush and dalglish and Barnes and Molby etc etc etc
Sentiment doesn't win football matches.

"Coutinho and sterling off, gerrard still on- probably because he carried the most treat" You mad bro?.
That game was crying out for either gerrard to drop in or can to push forward when lucas went off with either studge or a defender on depending on gerrard/can replacing lucas, markovic to come on if couts was injured and lallana to come on for sterling. Lambert on so late with no actual link between the midfield and him with sturridge made us less likely to score. Bring back the days of us only having 11 first team players because Brenda gets sub decisions right as often as Jamie Carra scored.

{Ed001's Note - do own goals count in that? If so Carra was quite a regular scorer.......}

12.) 08 Feb 2015
Rogers bagged a couple of own goal worthy substitutions last night Ed.

{Ed001's Note - very true. Bringing on Allen has to rank as one of the most bizarre choices ever. Thankfully we didn't need all 11 players as Everton had no intention of trying to win last night. They really disappointed me, I have to be honest. Everton as a club deserve better than that meek, insipid display against their main rivals. It was not right.}

Which is why many believe will fail in our hunt for CL footie due to bizarre subs and team selections like we saw last night. As for the shambles that the Blues have become, they can thnk the "eternal optimist" and the "media darling" who is more of a star a star at avoiding relegtion (and eventually getting releated) than anything else. They deserve more than that shambolic manager they have now
