Nice to see pundits (Sky Sports) giving Lucas some praise.

Not sure if anyone was aware but in his 23 appearances this season we have only lost twice, against chav and real.

I'm sure the Lucas hating brigade will still be out in force, I'm sure some will think our turn in fortunes is down to everything but Lucas, however, he is a far better defensive mid than Gerrard/Henderson/Allen will ever be.

Quite the contrary, if you've read some of the posts, you will find that a lot of posters have given Lucas praise. He is one of the reasons why Liverpool FC have done 'better' recently i.e. stopped leaking to many goals.

Nobody has said Lucas isn't a better defensive midfielder than those 3 players you mentioned. Ever since Lucas picked up his last long term injury many of us recognised the vulnerability in that area. The biggest issue with Lucas for me was whether he could recover well and find the form he had before his injury problems. However he has come back strong and has proven to be once again an important player for us.
