With it being reported that Camacho has completed his transfer to Sporting I think we can safely assume that JK is not interested in Bruno Fernandes. It looks like he is prepared to go with what he has with the likes of AOC, and NK being available. I think as well he will go with Brewster and keep Origi. If that what he thinks I trust his judgement.

I think it was all just wishful thinking. By all accounts it doesn't look like we're in for any player of that caliber this window. All reporters saying €20m to non founds earmarked for investment for the summer, and I can't see us strengthen the first team for that amount. A couple of good talents for the u-teams would be nice though.

This makes no sense, it is very rarely the case where transfers from 2 clubs depend on each other. Swaps generally don't happen. So if Klopp wanted Bruno Fernandes he might still want him. Them buying one of our kids won't matter.
We will buy a few players. But there is no need to panic. We've already got an outstanding team and panel.

Dont know how you come to that conclusion on the 28th of June! Pretty daft to me.

28th of June and the experts on here think the window is closed. At least wait until the 10th of August before starting the hand wringing and crying.

It's still June, plenty of big teams have not made a major signing yet. We are obviously after a left back and and an attacking mid/ forward player and they do not need to be signed by July 1st. let's see where we are in August.

Not technically a swap, but Barcelona and Valencia just bought each other's GK's!

NK injured again after getting rushed back by Guinea.

Who’s to say a nice easy transfer doesn’t build a good relationship for when we want a player of theirs?

I think it’s short sighted. We lacked goals and guile in midfield and with due respect to Keita and AOC, they’re not the players to offer this. We need a midfielder who can score goals and unlock tight defences with a clever pass. If we stand still now, we will move backwards. It’s clear we lack creativity and goals in midfield last season, we should go for Fernandes as he’s one of the best available. There’s no point going for James Maddison as he’s a dyed in the wool United supporter, Coutinho has burnt his bridges, Fekir isn’t happening and as Ed002 has mentioned, Ziyech has considerable baggage.

what exactly is short sighted? Camacho to sporting has nothing to do with BF or any other transfer for that matter! Keita and ox both have goals in them.

interesting that you call that out as a big miss - given we have a club record total points in the league for the club and are champions of europe.

of course we want to improve but i didn't realise the window shut on 28th June?

What's "short sighted"? . Majority of replies that I've read from the Ed's say they expect an attacking MF to be targeted. Wait until the 10th of August to start the whining.

With Lallana staying for one more season, Ox coming back and Keita more used to the EPL, I think there's zero chance we are buying another number 8~10. Unless Lallana leaves, It should be a left back and maybe a winger. I was sure we would buy a winger too, but thinking about Origi's development this season and how Shaqiri will also be more used to our system + Ox, I'm not so sure.

If the only player we’re looking to add is a versatile striker costing no more than £20m, then yes it is very short sighted, in fact it would be a waste of £20m considering we have Harry Wilson. It was evident on top many occasions last year that we lacked an attacking midfielder who could score goals and pick a pass when teams are parking the bus. It was the bore draws against City, United, Everton, West Ham and Leicester that cost us the title and inability to get through them that was a problem. Our midfield hardly weighed in with many goals at all. As for the argument that Keita and Ox have goals in them, this is a shaky argument as Ox has never bagged double figures and the most he’s got in a PL season is 3, and Keita needs to learn to speak English and stay injury free. But again, between either of them, they don’t have the vision of a De Bruyne, a Silva (either David or Bernardo) or any midfielder of that skill and ability, because they lack the skill set.

{Ed001's Note - why is Wilson relevant? He is not the answer.}

Jk not interested in BF has AOC, NK, F, GW, JH plus RB, RF and HW who can all play behind the striker. Also STOP USING ACRONYMS.

6 Times, are you new at LFC cos what you just said about Ox and Naby lacking guile in midfield, makes little sense? Before Ox got injured, he was tearing it up in the PL and the CL.

Go ask Pep the complete damage he did to them in the PL and CL affairs where we thumped them 10 goals to 4 with Ox scoring twice and facilitating the front three to score their goals as well.

As for Naby, he just started to offer that guile and goals you claim he does not offer, before he got injured at Barcelona so again, your post lacks any empirical evidence to support your opinion on both of these players. And as for Wilson, Ed02 has said he is getting sold and NO, he is not the answer either.

29 Jun 2019 18:06:13
Just my opinion but our midfield is the main reason why we have such an attack minded back four. If we add an all out attacking midfielder then that would mean less protection for our back four. Any of JH, Fab or GW can drop back when need be. I think this is why we saw so little of Shaqiri last season. I couldn't see any significant flaws in his game so I guess it was down to tactics. We conceded the least amount of goals last season and were only behind City by about 5 goals.
That being said I would absolutely love us to sign Bruno Fernandes but I don't feel that desperation to sign players that I felt in seasons gone by.

29 Jun 2019 18:44:34
Ox and Keita are good at what they do, but they lack the vision and game intelligence that we lacked at vital moments that City have in abundance in De Bruyne, David Silva and Bernardo Silva. We do lack a creative midfielder who can score vital goals and find a telling pass in tight situations. Also £20m doesn’t go very far in this market, and if we sold Wilson to, for example, bring in someone like Maxwel Cornet, that would be very poor business indeed.

6Times, Klopp's midfield from his Dortmund days, does NOT and has NEVER played with a true no. 10. He values athleticism and energy over guile and should we even need guile and intelligence, Bobbie can provide that. Klopp was going to keep Cou cos he would accommodate him in our midfield even tho, it left us light at the back when we lose the ball. There is a reason why after Cou left, we were better on the counter with Ox's ability to break the lines with pace and power and damage teams. Again, ask Pep at City. Also, Ox could track back and help defensively, something Cou had stopped doing.

Also, your comparison btween Wilson and Max Cornet is ludicrous. How could you say that an unproven Harry Wilson (who has NO game experience in the top division) being sold and a proven Max Cornet (Ivorian international, CL experience with Lyon and top flight experience in France) would be poor business? How do you even work that stuff out?
