Hi Ed002,

Hope you are well.

Thank you for all the knowledge you have in the footballing world. I appreciate it.

Our team needs full backs and an attacker. Whom are we considering?

{Ed002's Note - You are very sweet. I appreciate that it has been reported about all of these nailed on and reported players being of interest to the club - the likes of Werner, Dybala etc., but the reality is unless one of the key players were to leave that won't be happening.

Liverpool need a GK, CB, LB/RB cover and LM - could look to a Creative AM player (along the lines of Fekir) and drop Shaqiri and Keita down the pecking order - finding space for TAA in midfield looks tough to me, although Ed001 suggests that may well be on the cards. In terms of players looked at:

Kenny Lala (RB/RM) only just signed a new contract but has been looked at
Diego Llorente (CB) has been watched by Marseille, Spurs, Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, West Ham, Fulham and Sevilla since joining Real Sociadad in the summer - Spurs could be tempted as they expect TA to leave
Ruben Dias (CB) Liverpool have watched the Benfica CB on several occasions and watched him in a national game against Croatia in September
Dael Fry (CB) Liverpool has a declared interest in Fry as they look to bolster the HG quota - knowing that prices will increase - much is expected of Fry
Francisco Ferreira (CB) was one of the three young CBs Liverpool looked at in 2017 with a view to taking one in January 2018. He is priced the way he is in order to turn any potential buyers away, such as Manchester City, West Ham and Borussia Dortmund who have also shown a little interest and watched him in the B side over the past 18 months.

In terms of attacking players:
Bruno Fernandes (AM) is of interest to Everton, Manchester United, Milan and Liverpool who have all looked at him on two or more occasions. Spurs maintain an interest but only if Christian Eriksen leaves. Asking price has more than doubled from what was already a high price in recent months and that has pushed aside interest from Juventus who don't see the value, Valencia and CSKA. Whilst Bayern Munich and another EPL side have looked as well, neither have a declared interest that I know of and both have other AM targets.}
Klopp likes Lorenzo Insigne (LW) - would be a Salah or Mane replacement but a very, very expensive €150M asking price.}

Ed2 - amazing as always! Thank you.
Fully expect to be decimated for this but will ask anyway - any chance of even the tiniest hint of the area in football you are involved with?
Based in your answers, won't suprise me to learn that you ARE football 😀.

{Ed002's Note - From the right side I may well look like a football, but what I do to make a crust is well known. I am currently sat in the bar of the Tel Aviv Hilton as the lounge is really busy.}

{Ed002's Note - No, right now I am coming over a couple of times a month and my PA is staying longer than me. Shabbat Shalom.

Remember ed, I’m 1st name on the list to take over your job when you retire. I’ll send my c. v. over ed, you’ll never have seen anything like it 👍.

{Ed002's Note - Sure, no problem.}

Very nice! have you tried Monkey 47 Ed? if not I highly recommend.

{Ed002's Note - Probably is the answer. I always buy a bottle of any new gin I see, so there is much at home in England.}

I always pictured you as more of a single malt type Ed. Thanks for the info, it is much appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - Not for me.}

As a man who has no doubt sampled the finest and most expensive guns out there, what’s your number 1 recommendation?

{Ed002's Note - I don't like guns.}

Damn autocorrect 🙈😂. Gins ed, gins.

{Ed002's Note - I shall be heading to one of the world’s finest cocktail bars for an early evening snifter in a couple of hours when it opens. I have very much a soft spot for Sipsmith gin.}

I must admit Ed2 I'm not a big drinker, I'm a light weight and I'm not into gin too much but that monkey 47 stuff goes down a treat.

{Ed002's Note - I will look out for it.}

Good choice Ed. I've done a few gin tours around London, well worth it and very interesting learning the history. Beefeater 24 (the red bottle) took me by surprise, really good drop. And Gin Mare is excellent, infused with Mediterranean herbs etc.

{Ed002's Note - I would agree about the 24 - Hilton use it in their lounges as the house gin.}

Ed002, my missus recommends The Old Oxford Artisan Distillery Gin. It’s a small company based in Oxford, we both went to Uni there and still have connections in the city but discovered it by accident, they produce some lovely gin.

{Ed002's Note - I'll check it out.}

Ed002, I'm off to Tel Aviv in about a month. Care to share this world beating cocktail bar you're off to so I too can enjoy their tequilas? I'm a big fan of the Fortaleza Blanco Tequila which I first had when I was in Cali last year. I could drink that all day.

{Ed002's Note - Imperial Craft - you need to make reservations.}

If we're on gin recommendations then Brockmans should be on your radar. Available everywhere these days and is the gin I regularly use to convert non gin drinkers!

Yeah, Ed, Sipsmith is good stuff. I'm not a gin aficionado so to see you like that as well is a relief.

Caorunn and Rock Rose are a couple of nice gins made up my neck of the woods.

I'm more of a rum man myself, but the wife likes her gin and I take a fancy for it now and again.

Ed, I can't understand the motivation for a man with what sounds like a very hectic and interesting life taking time out to moderate this website, with the additional level of grief you get for (from what I can tell) simply having a soft spot for another English team and having a dry sense of humour, but I sure as hell appreciate the fact that you do, as you contribute greatly to making this site my most frequented webpage. I shall raise a glass to you the next time I get the offer of babysitters, in around 6 years time!

{Ed002's Note - I'll look out for them. Thanks.}
