Ed, is there any truth that Coutinho is looking for a move to Manchester United or is this just lazy journalism?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what he wants, sorry. But certainly he is one of the players Barcelona want sold this summer.}

Ed, if you ever have any openings in your rodeo, I'd like to apply.

{Ed002's Note - I'll take note of that.}

Ed002 why would they be so quick to get rid when they went to the trouble to attain him. Is it financial or another reason.

{Ed002's Note - He is not playing as well as they want and they are willing to cut him lose and take a hit on the funds bringing a replacement in.}

certainly Liverpool wouldn't be interested, would they?

No chance Stone mate, not at the price Barcelona would be after.

Would we want him back after way he left?

Coutinho can play LW AM RW CM he can rotate with the front three and in the middle. I understand he faked injuries because he wanted his DREAM move but he was doing great with us. apart from that he has friends here in Firmino Moreno and now we have Alisson Fabinho he will feel at home here and he will give us his best years.
Just imagine
Alisson-A. Arnold-Gomez-VanDijk-Robertson-Fabinho-Keita-Coutinho-Salah-Mane-Firmino.

I think we have moved on as a club and are better off without him. Don't think he works hard enough off the ball and he is a high light player that looks better than he is because of the goals he scores but how many shots does he have but fore one goes in would much prefer are front 3 over him and in the middle ox all day for me. I know he has more ability on the ball than ox but look how hard david silva kevin de bruyne and bernardo silva. Think its time to move on.

Asensio is apparently available in the summer for £69m apparently, I would much rather we buy him. Amazing player with serious potential, probably cheaper than Countinho (not that I would want to see him back) don't get me wrong, Coutinho was an amazing player for us, but he cooked his goose with the fans over how he acted trying to leave - well he did for me anyway!

{Ed001's Note - is Asensio really amazing?}

I loved Couts during his time at Liverpool. However, I wouldn't be happy if we were to take him back. I just think for the price we could do better in terms of signing a player that would fit Klopps system. For me, id go all out to sign Son from Spurs. I don't think they'd sell unfortunately. And Levy isn't exactly a dream to deal with either.

Are you seriously saying you would prefer Son to Coutinho.

We will not be getting him back, but coutinho is a wonderful player. creative and game changing, just what we need in games such as west ham and Leicester.

We drastically improved when Coutinho left last season. We are currently having one of our best seasons ever. We do not miss him. When we play against deep defences Coutinho is not the answer, we had the same struggles vs this kind of strategy the entire time Coutinho was with us.

When did we drastically improve after Coutinho left? 1st Jan 2018 we were 3rd in the prem at the end of the season we were 4th. We started to concede less goals due to VVD coming but we didn't score more league goals.

Of course we miss him to some extent. Did you not watch the Man U or the Everton games, this is when he could have made the difference.

I don't think either will ever happen but, if push came to shove, I would definitely have Son over Coutinho. Coutinho is excellent don't get me wrong, but Son's all round game is superb and he is an absolute grafter. He'd suit out style perfectly as well.

Coutinho was in and out of games and went missing a lot. Then he would bang a worldie in and all would be forgotten. He really should get more time and space in the Spanish league to do his stuff. So if he's struggling is really a player we would want back for £100 mill plus. No thanks move on don't go back.

The fee alone make him unobtainable before you consider the other factors, such as how he left, how well we played without him, the cost, his overall salary etc etc.

We should move on, he’s not worth the £100 million being mentioned for me. For that we could sign both Fekir and Brandt with change to spare.

For the crazy amount of money for buying Countinho, I predict he will just end up staying at Barcelona for maybe 2 more seasons. Luckily he would have some game time but definitely the the star player of them. And finally he would end up like Cesc Fabregas, leaving there cheap to Italy maybe?

What do you think about my prediction Eds?

{Ed002's Note - Barcelona want him sold and will drop the price if they need to - selling him obviously saves them money on payments to Liverpool.}

12 Mar 2019 22:42:44
So we get kicked twice then? Losing him to Barcelona and now losing what I would imagine would be a significant chunk of his transfer fee because they want to sell him. I know we don’t like to talk money but that’s kind of kicking us twice - why would anyone want him back (unless it’s so we can sell him again and get paid something?! )

19.) 14 Mar 2019
14 Mar 2019 03:29:34
Maybe we can do something to negotiate a good deal involving the payments left.

20.) 16 Mar 2019
16 Mar 2019 21:07:02
That’s confusing, why would it save them money on payments to us? Surely any money owed has to be honoured regardless of whether he is there or not? Or are we talking about add ons for appearances, etc?

{Ed002's Note - We are talking about a large sum of money that would be due if he stayed, played and Barcelona were successful. I have explained the structure of the fee before. Sadly many of the fans don’t believe it.}
