Eds- what's the latest re Sturbridge? He's been relatively sharp especially early in the season when he's played albeit not a lot of minutes of recent. I know he gets bashed up for being injured but has stayed fit this season. Appreciate money will be an issue but do you think LFC have genuine interest in keeping him?

{Ed001's Note - no, not unless he is willing to take a pay cut for a new contract. At the moment the plan is to let him go in the summer.}

Hey Ed, so if the plan is to move Sturridge on in the summer, does that mean we may potentially be in the market for a new striker? With Origi likely to leave, Solankes future up in the air and Brewster still recovering from his ACL, it would seem we would be a little short (especially if Firminos new long term future is in the attacking mids, or is it still too early to tell?

{Ed001's Note - only if more than one goes. We don't need to replace Solanke, for example, as Brewster on his return is his replacement.}

Sturridge's on 110k a week or so. Too much money for an impact substitute. If he takes a big pay cut like Ed001 said, then keep him till Brewster is ready to challenge Firmino. Otherwise let go and sign a versatile forward that can cover for Mane and Salah as well.

Ozakawi anyone?

Luka Jovic of Benfica looks a good player, currently on loan at Frankfurt. 20 year old versataille frontman full of beans.

Would fit well into our system.

{Ed002's Note - Jovic will not be moving to Liverpool.}

If we are to keep this run going we need to be aiming to bring in a top class forward. Look at what we are having to content with at City. There wealth of attacking talent is scary. We have been lucky so far not to have any of ours out for any length of time. Fingers crossed may it continue. But I just feel with another top draw attacker on the books would also push the fab 3 even further. I don't know who Klopp may look at but he needs to be a top draw player then allow Sturridge Origi to leave and then loan out Solanke (I fear he may not make it for us) . Wilson will offer cover out wide when he returns next season but its the man at the top. Timo Werner would be my shout but he won't come cheap. He's going to be about 60m I suspect but he offers top quality cover. Which also allows Klopp to rotate more so in turn keeping them fresher and hungrier to stay in the team.

Firmino - Aguero
Salah - Sterling
Mané - Sane
Wilson - Mahrez
Werner - Jesus

I'd be made up with that personally but it's a big ask of the club to go for such a coveted player. Also it's a big ask for him to play as a rotated player when so many other teams would offer him a started place.

I feel we are in a great place and it's only a matter of replacing the out goings next window. But it's replacing them with a better quality that's the difficult part. Our youth players should be expected to support the first team squad. But without first team football many may become disillusioned and want to seek pastures new. So although we are in a strong position. The summer window is going to be a tricky one for Klopp. Does he stick with the youth or twist and build an all star squad which could be potentially the downfall our the club.

I think its madness to let him go, Who could we possibly get of Dannys calibre who is reasonably happy to play back up. I don't understand why we would stick by him through all of the injuries to release him when he's playing his best footy in years. Besides, 110k isn't that much compared to what most top prem strikers earn, I bet Girouds on similar money and i know who id rather have on the bench.

Does Sturridge really have a "calibre" these days? Especially the way our team is set up? Clearly he was a very good player and he might well be, in the right team in the future but i don't think that's us anymore. If we are to sign someone then surely it has to be someone who can smoothly replace one of our front 3 without changing our style of play too much. My opinion only.

Okazaki from Leicester would be a good signing on a "free" he's perpetual motion and knows where the goal is, Leicester play better and win more matches with him in the side statistically. Definitely a good impact sub for us and a very good replacement for Bobby's workrate when he's rested.

Sturridge will be gone in the summer, sadly he doesn't fit in with what we are doing here and his wages would be better use elsewhere.

He is a good player but does not play enough through injury or being protected from injury etc, that just means he is not value for money.

He would do well in Europe, where football isn't as frenetic as it is in England.

It’s no coincidence that the games we’ve lost in the cups this season has been when he’s played.
His work rate has got better but he’s still making the wrong runs and not pressing with enough aggression.
Added to that he’s missing sitters and if he’s missing chances from 3 yards out there’s really no point him playing because he does very little else for the team.
At least Origi will put himself about and try to run in behind occasionally.

Sturridge got us 1 point vs Chelsea and Origi 3 points vs Everton. We have Origi as Sturridge replacement.

Technically wrong. Sturridge got us 1 point, Origi got us 2.

what difference does it make to the quality of each player?

rediculous comment!
