Absolutely horrible news for him and the club.

Really awful news, everytime the kid start to play regular he gets a bad injury. Huge loss during such a crucial period.

This is bad, this may be the start of a hefty injury list during this period. We’re always unlucky with injuries, and I guarantee city get hardly any if any. Lovren and Matip are more than capable but Gomez is clearly our second best centre back and offers something’s the others don’t. I hope this doesn’t affect us as much as I think it might. Didn’t even look like anything had happened to him but some footballers seem fragile unfortunately.

{Ed025's Note - you have to get away from all this city have good luck and liverpool always have bad luck malarkey Kman, liverpool have been very lucky with injuries if truth be known and it makes you sound very fickle mate..

It's a good idea to check the facts. ManC played West Ham (about 10 days ago) without De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Mendy and Otamendi; all of whom you could say are starters. That's hardly injury free. And they still won 0-4.

I just hope Lovren can put in a good string of games together, now.

Agree with ed025, where has De Bruyne been all season, Kman92? I would say that City have better replacements than us but so far, we haven't had too many/ any major injuries barring Gomez's most recent one which has come at a very inopportune time.

With Fabinho starting to settle though, that helps lovren out a lot! , let’s him find his position and settle, Fabinho slows down an attack, so don’t have to rely on gomez’ fastboce to get back, huge loss though!

All teams have injuries and you do need a bit of luck at times. City have their fair share of injuries, the main difference is that they have back up quality in all areas.

He is out for 6 weeks, players get injured all the time and that is what the squad is for. Lovren is a top defender and I have no worries about him.
The old back 5 had no leaders or communicators, now we have Van Dijk and Alisson organising the back line, so Lovren can concentrate solely on defending.

{Ed002's Note - Well spotted. The first realisation of reality and what the squad is for.}

Gutted for Joe Gomez, for the team and just hope that Lovren steps up, got to agree with the Green man, he will have it a lot easier this time, only we have so many big games coming up fast, but, let's just do it,
at least, while its prob about 8 weeks, Bournemouth have just lost Lewis Cook, great young midfielder, for at least 9 months, now that's a blow .
one game at a time .
YNWA .

gutted for Gomez to think he is going to be great player for us. but not the worst player to lose VVD and lovren is not a bad pairing. I think we can lose the odd player but would not like to lose Alisson or VVD.
