I see rumours have appeared on Twitter that we have made an official approach for Pulisic in the wake of Chelsea also make their intentions clear on wanting to sign him. Anyone know if there's any truth in these rumours? I think he'd be a great signing and I'd be more excited about bringing him in than the likes of Fekir, but it's The Firm who are announcing this on Twitter and I'm not sure that their rumours are overly credible. Thanks guys.

Leave that rumour on Twitter my friend
Up the pool.

{Ed002's Note - The song "Up The Pool" was about Blackpool.}

What I don’t understand is why not? Especially given all the talk of his relationship with Klopp and also the fact that this his Age, Nationality and skill/ potential fits our business model direction and he obviously knows Klopps system.

The only think I can assume is that Klopp sees something in him that doesn’t make him the right fit for what he is doing, the league or how we play.

You can always make space for a world class teenager, especially when that kid knows, likes and respects the manager. I’m just intrigued as to why it’s an insta NO when his name comes up?

The Firm = FKFB.

Pay no attention 👍.

Cos we have three right wingers - which is his best position. If we spend again, it would be for a naturally central player surely?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have not made any approach for Pulisic.}

They can link all the players they want but who gets dropped for Pulisic? I think the club is a victim of its own success in recent Windows. Pulisic is a good player and i would love him at Liverpool but he has come on the market at the wrong time for our squad imo.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has made no approach for Pulisic.}

I fully understand that Edd02, I just don't think people can be happy for what we have here.

We have a great squad and I can't wait for the season to start.

{Ed002's Note - I still expect another GK to arrive but Liverpool have done pretty well this summer so far.}

Ed do you not think Grabara will be given chances then and push Karius as back up?

{Ed002's Note - Grabara is a kid who should not even be considered because he won't get a chance - a couple of years and he will follow Ward out of the club. I don't see Karius staying. Why do I need to keep explaining this over and over?}

Didn't Klopp say categorically that it's best for his development to stay at Dortmund and that there may be a possibility in the future? So clearly he believes that Pulisic isn't good enough to start for us currently. We can't expect to bring him to compete with Shaqiri for the back up role.

Question for Ed02.
I am aware that liverpool have not made an approach for pulisic, for whatever reason. What I keep reading people say is how keen FSG would be to sign him because he is american. I am led to believe that the additional revenue from shirt sales is negligable, so is there actually any logic to what has now become a cliche?

{Ed002's Note - The income from shirt sales would no doubt increase in the United States but that would not benefit Liverpool at all. The shirt sale money goes to New Balance or whatever they are called now. Two clubs have shirt deals that benefit the clubs and not the manufacturers - Real Madrid and Barcelona. FSG are not going to commit to investing in Pulisic for shirt sales. If the money was to be commited to buy him, as it stands now it would be as a replacement for Salah. Add him to the list the fans are still expecting (and no doubt will) join before next week - Dybala, Asensio, Dembele and Mbappe.}

Some folks are so excited by chasing new signings that they don't think about where the player would fit, or if he's even needed. They just see a name linked in the paper and immediately want him signed. The thrill of the chase I reckon.

Think Grabara would be the perfect 3rd choice goalie, huge potential. Will be back up by the start of next season and will push Allison in a few years.

{Ed002's Note - Well clubs should look to use reliable aging third choice goalkeepers who can help work with the youth players - and even better if they are home grown. That is why Chelsea opted for Rob Green. Liverpool could do worse than look to someone like Ross Turnbull for such a role - but seemingly want to waste the career of another younger goalkeeper by using Grabara who won't be played.}

If Liverpool wanted him why would they wait for Chelsea to go for him? Doesn’t make sense that.

No point getting Turnbull or Green in when Grabara is already better. He'll learn from the coaches and the likws of Allison.

{Ed002's Note - It doesn’t matter how good he is - he wont play. It would be Ward all over again and Klopp screwing up the career of yet another young players.}

Yet another young players?

Klopp is no more guilty of screwing up the careers of young players than other managers. That's just modern football. Buy potential and hope you find a gem. Unfortunately it rarely happens.

Have to agree with Ed 002 on this one. We need an experienced old pro as number 2 as Alisson will be our first choice for the next 10 years. We need someone who is happy to sit on the bench and help out with the kids.

Regards grabara, ya'll are miasing the point that it is nonsenaical having him as 3rd keeper because he literally WONT PLAY. Sorry, not yelling just emphasizing this. He needs to play to develop. He won't get better simply practicising xaily and then sitting in his #1s on game day. That is why the #3 keeper is often an older guy who knows moat of hia time ia going to be on the bench. But the impact he can have around the club out of fans eyes is important too.

Regards pulisic. To be simple about it, if he is keen I rekon we go for it on a deal that binga him here in 2019 or if possible, then preferably 2020. My personal opinion is that he ia going to be a magical player!

24.) 31 Jul 2018

Karius is 2nd GK and Grabbara is 3rd GK. No need to add a GK.

25.) 31 Jul 2018
31 Jul 2018 23:04:07
Man, people are hard nuts. Grabbara is young, promising and developing. If he's stuck as 3rd GK then he won't play. It's the same that happened with Ward. Was stuck as 3rd and everyone was yelling at the injustice of not sending him out on loan for him to get game time.

Grabbara needs to either stay with U-23s or go out on loan. Needs to keep developing.
