Allan Rodrigues de Souza has signed a new LFC deal and will join Eintracht on a season-long loan - from the club's website.

Just curious ed, we are struggling a lot to get a work permit for him, is this going to be an investment with a view to a sale for a decent fee or are the club looking at him as a 1st team player at some point in the future?

{Ed001's Note - the initial plan was to get him in as a long term first team player, with a view to a sale if he doesn't make it.}

Has anyone watched him play? Curious to know what he’s like. Ta.

I haven’t watched him play much, just the occasional game here and there. To me he’s sort of like a mini Alonso, keeps the ball ticking, over with a great eye for a pass and is positionally aware enough to be effective when defending, although obviously he isn’t a powerhouse tackler. Main strengths are his first touch, passing range, vision and calmness on the ball. Main weakness is his somewhat diminutive stature and lack of physical strength.

Thanks Westwood, hopefully he’ll get his chance with us one day (WP permitting) .

You could be describing a young Iniesta there.

If only!

Fingers crossed he continues to develop.

{Ed002's Note - I have to say that there are many who see him with a great future but he needs to break out of the situation he is in, get back to South America for a year and then look for a progressive move to Europe.}

Big Sami in defensive coaching role would be the dream.

Ed, what exactly does this fella need to achieve in order to be eligible to play in England? What needs to happen? Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - there are loads of ways, from getting citizenship of a European country to playing international football.}

What is preventing him from getting a work permit? Previous criminal history?

{Ed001's Note - lack of international appearances, lack of citizenship of a European nation etc.}

Criminal history? Why on Earth would you assume that? Be careful what you say about a player on a rumours website, that's how rumours get started.

How do Spanish teams ie Madrid buy this kids from South America no issues? Is it to do with having g Spanish heritage or something?

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you mean by "no issues". If you are referring to Work Permits then it is simply a matter of the rules being different in England to other European countries - as many of the rules related to the recruitment of players are.}

I know that several Latin American countries have things in place where their citizens if they live legally in Spain for 2 years they can apply for citizenship. I wonder if Brazil and Portugal have such an arrangement too. Makes you wonder if a loan to Portugal would have been a better move for him than Germany and Greece.

{Ed002's Note - A passport of convenience would not help with any attempt by Liverpool to cheat the system.}
